Velos is seeking a bright, energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented Manager of Association Programs to join a small team supporting the National Security Space Association (NSSA), a rapidly growing industry association, assisting with day-to-day association activities.
NSSA (www.nssaspace.org) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit support association soley dedicated to the National Security Space Enterprise, to include the Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, and the Intelligence Community. NSSA works to advance long-term cooperation among industry and government, leading the way with expert opinion, insight and analysis.
Reporting to the Chief Operations and Development Officer, the Manager of Association Programs will manage and assist in growing our association programs, which are designed to bring together industry and government professionals, thought leaders, and policy experts within the national security space community. This position will have a unique opportunity to engage with these key stakeholders, gaining exposure to cutting-edge developments in space operations, policy, and technology.
SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
Engage with and facilitate robust interactions among senior leadership personnel across the White House, Defense Department, Intelligence Community, and Congress
Lead coordination of content (i.e., event agendas) for myriad events such as annual conferences, forums, and virtual engagements (both classified and unclassified), ensuring a seamless experience for participants
Support NSSA's devoted think-tank (the Moorman Center for Space Studies), workforce development activities, and congressional engagements
Support preparation for NSSA Board of Advisors and Board of Directors meetings
Serve as primary staff liaison for newly launched committees
Support communication team initiatives
Provide logistical support to NSSA team members in producing meetings and events
Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in business, government relations, political science, or related field
5+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Motivated team player and "can do" self-starter, who can work with little supervision
Strong organizational skills with demonstrated commitment to accuracy, detail, and timeliness in completion of tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders
Intellectual curiosity with desire to learn and ability to rapidly translate new skills to informed decisions
Demonstrate critical thinking, sound judgment, ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred
Experience with corporate membership associations or national security space industry desirable
Willingness and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
