The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is the premier international membership association for physicians, researchers, and medical professionals, who are dedicated to conquering lung and thoracic cancers worldwide. For nearly 20 years, the IASLC has provided critical grant funding to support the medical research projects of promising young researchers and mid-career professionals in the field of thoracic oncology. The Grants Coordinator provides operational and administrative support for these internal grant programs.
Day to day, the Grants Coordinator is responsible for managing grant application processes, tracking funded projects, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and enhancing communication and engagement across these mission-critical initiatives. This position will also assist in optimizing data management systems and grant-related workflows to improve program efficiency and impact.
This nonsupervisory position is physically based in our downtown Denver, CO office on a hybrid work schedule. This position reports to the Development Program Manager.
In this role, you will:
• Coordinate and streamline grant application processes, compliance reviews, and post-award monitoring to ensure adherence to funding requirements. • Serve as the primary contact for grant applicants, recipients, and committee members, ensuring professional. timely communication and efficient coordination. • Support the Research Grant Review Panel by facilitating grant reviews and funding decisions. • Maintain accurate tracking systems for grant applications, funding distributions, and project progress. • Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline operations and maximize program impact. • Develop expertise in the use of selected corporate development technology platforms, and support end users to improve engagement and program execution. • Assist in data management and reporting to optimize the effectiveness of grant programs and partner collaborations. • Deliver timely, responsive, positive customer service to internal and external partners. • Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team and maintain positive interpersonal relationships in a small, intimate working environment.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience • 1-2 years of experience in grants administration, research program administration, or similar work • Strong technical skills with proven aptitude for learning, configuring, and integrating new technologies quickly and efficiently into workflow. • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information. • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with external partners and staff as a positive, responsive representative of the IASLC. • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, dependable, resourceful. • Proactive customer service orientation, relationship building skills and flexibility. • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and communication. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with various IASLC teams. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed. • Multilingual fluency/literacy would be a plus.
