The Manager: Strategic Communications will play a crucial role in developing and executing communications plans and strategies, while supporting strategic initiatives that enhance RSNA’s visibility and impact. The Manager: Strategic Communications will have a specific focus on RSNA’s Media Relations program. This position will also be responsible for supporting the Director: Public Information and Communications with strategic initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and goals. This role is ideal for someone with broad communications skills who enjoys working on a wide range of communications projects.
What we're looking for: We are seeking a talented communications professional with broad experience to work across communications functions, including planning and writing editorial content, collaborating on social media activities, executing media relations programs and special projects. This position will develop communications plans, work with various committees of volunteers and reporters, write press releases and other media relations materials, manage media relations web content, and monitor and track media coverage and interactions.

What you'll do:
Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to promote RSNA's programs, events, and initiatives.
Develop and deploy daily media and social media monitoring reports.
Assist in planning and execution of the RSNA journals press release program.
Collaborate with web content team to manage web content on the media page.
Assist in developing presentations and speeches for leadership.
Collaborate across teams to amplify RSNA News content and media placements on social media and other channels.
Work in the Newsroom at the RSNA annual meeting, assisting media, conducting presenter interviews and coordinating media events.
Work with media relations team to assist with media registration and scientific abstract review process for the annual meeting.
Manage annual meeting exhibitor media activities and Virtual Press Office.
Work closely with members of the Public Information Advisors Network (PIAN).
Manage tracking and reporting of media coverage.
Manage media contact lists.
Research and write scientific and non-scientific press releases and assist in distribution, in addition to managing freelance writers.
Supports the Public Information and Media Relations teams to script, produce and edit video content for RSNA News, Daily Bulletin, RadiologyInfo.org, media relations and social media, and other RSNA videos, as assigned.
What you'll need:
3-5 years of experience in communications, public/media relations or related field.
Experience in all aspects of public relations, including developing and writing press releases and related materials.
Experience in communications, social media and multimedia tactics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in project management and ability to manage multiple projects, including planning, execution and reporting.
Strong editing and proofreading skills.
Sharp attention to details and ability to meet and manage deadlines.
Ability to direct projects and coordinate deadlines with outside contractors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop; experience with video production/editing; Cision and Critical Mention media monitoring tools a plus.
