Overview:
The Director of Education is a key position in a small and growing trade association. This position is very “hands-on” and detailed oriented in providing an outstanding educational experience for our members and the industry-at-large. The Director will develop and execute strategies to grow the educational content including the EGSA Reference Book, a top association priority, by working with leadership and key members, as well as enhancing current educational programs including our popular schools and certification programs. The person will be a self-starter, agile and nimble, is able to work on numerous projects simultaneously, and has a passion for creating new work products while maintaining day-to-day processes. The Director is an independent thinker with outstanding communication, project management and judgment skills in navigating multiple priorities with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational Content and Project Management
Work closely with the Education Committee and staff in creating new classroom and lab training including certification preparation to complement and enhance EGSA’s current programs.
Serve as project management lead on updating EGSA’s on-site Power Generation reference book; also serve as administrative lead.
Serve as staff lead on all conference (currently two per year) educational sessions and project manage and coordinate all speakers.
Oversee the execution of all in-person and virtual schools. Ensure a quality member experience by reviewing instructor presentations and attendee engagement.
Partner with Membership Experience in recruiting Member targets that participate in educational offerings. Responsible for educational member communications including various marketing channels.
Develop and enhance EGSA’s Learning Management System (LMS) with both EGSA and Member content; create other online programs to support technician certification needs.
Support all other existing educational programs including Power Webinars.
Oversee the administration of the technician certification program.
Staff lead on the Education Committee and other Education groups.
Management of Education budget including monthly review of financials and forecast updates.
Other tasks as assigned by EGSA staff leadership.
Skills and Qualifications:

Five to eight years of educational content experience in the association management sector; desired in the power generation or related fields.
Specific project management experience; desired PMP certification.

Work accurately with a laser focus attention to detail.
Solid computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Office.
