About The Foundation The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research (Foundation) is the only national nonprofit solely dedicated to funding physical therapy research and promising researchers through grants, scholarships, and fellowships. We fund research and develop researchers to optimize movement and health. The Foundation is an affiliate of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Foundation staff are employed by APTA and receive the same employee benefits and adhere to APTA policies and procedures.
Summary
The Associate, Scientific Programs is a critical role in supporting the Scientific Programs of the Foundation. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills. The Associate must have demonstrated strong administration and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to track and prioritize tasks. The Associate will report to the Manager, Scientific Programs and will work collaboratively with the Foundation team.
Essential Functions
Be the lead administrative support for Scientific Programs supporting the day-to-day grants operations using the Foundation’s ProposalCentral grant management system.
Liaise with the ProposalCentral support teams helping Foundation applicants, current and past awardees
Respond to queries from users about their applications, grants, and awards.
Support the Manager, Scientific Programs, throughout the application set up, review, award and post-award cycles using ProposalCentral tools.
Staff Expectations
Upholds and fosters team values.
Complies with all APTA policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned to foster achievement of association priorities.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred
2-4 years of customer service experience (call center or high-volume contact center preferred)
Experience using CRM systems (Protech, MS Dynamics, or similar software a plus)
Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to handle calls and inquiries from our members with professionalism and composure
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate multiple systems
High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
Sales experience or ability to upsell products/services is a plus
Travel Requirements
10%, local and National
