About the Organization:
The National Association for Temple Administration (NATA) is a nonprofit professional association serving as the voice of synagogue management and supporting our nearly 500 members who serve synagogues as executives and administrators. Position Overview:
We are seeking a warm, detail-oriented Community Manager to provide critical support to the Executive Director and Board. This part-time role (25-30 hours per week) involves developing relationships with members, managing our community engagement platform and database, supporting virtual programs and our annual in-person conference, and general administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate is self- directed, relationship-driven, tech savvy, and comfortable working in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Membership and Events:
Serve as the first point of contact for members, providing a warm and welcoming experience to encourage engagement and participation.
Respond to and assist with member inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Implement membership workflows related to recruitment, onboarding, retention, and offboarding.
Organize, schedule, and promote all online meetings and events. Assist in preparation of materials as needed.
Assist in planning for the NATA annual conference and in-person meetings, with full ownership of the conference registration process.
Attend annual conference to support member engagement, oversee the onsite office, manage registration, and assist with event logistics. ***Requires several days of domestic travel annually.***
Online Community Facilitation:
Serve as primary administrator for the association management system (Growthzone) and community management platform (HigherLogic).
Maintain and update the organizations database, ensuring accurate and complete membership records. Assist with reporting as requested.
Create and execute an organization strategy for the online knowledge library. Make recommendations for content to be added.
Complete accurate and timely updates to the website(s), community management platform, and social media to organize and publicize events, and to raise awareness of the organization.
Enhance connections through the use of social media and work to help develop and implement a communications and engagement plan and calendar.
Periodically review website(s) for needed updates and make minor edits to website content.
Facilitate postings to the NATA Career Opportunities page upon request.
General Administration:
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director (based in Chicago), Board of Directors, and Committees.
Other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a part-time, hourly position. The exact rate will be based on experience and qualifications.
Major federal and Jewish holidays are paid time off.
Paid Time Off (PTO) is available.

Qualifications:
Proven success in building meaningful professional relationships through communication and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to leverage association management software and community platform software to enhance member experience and increase engagement. Proficiency with Growthzone and/or Higher Logic is a plus.
Prior experience in administrative support, preferably in a virtual organization.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to legally work in the U.S. and travel annually within the U.S. for up to one week at a time.
Access to a professional workspace with reliable internet access.
