YOUR IMPACT
The Director of Marketing and Communications leads the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aimed at strengthening the visibility, engagement, and brand identity of TABS. This position focuses on enhancing awareness of the value of boarding schools, supporting member schools in their outreach, and driving engagement with various stakeholders. The Director of Marketing and Communications plays a key role in supporting membership growth and promoting TABS’ professional programs to broaden the organization’s reach and impact. This position will take a strategic approach to brand management, content creation, media relations, and digital communication, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while executing campaigns and initiatives on time and within budget.
HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
Marketing Strategy and Brand Management
Develop and implement strategic marketing plans for all TABS initiatives and programs to drive growth and engagement, while considering revenue generation and program alignment. This includes brand development and growth, content creation, public relations, internal communications and marketing event management
Lead and oversee all marketing efforts, working closely with TABS leadership to plan and execute strategic marketing and promotional initiatives that align with and advance organizational goals
Oversee brand positioning and lead the creation and management of content for brand messaging, social media strategies, communication efforts, and email marketing campaigns, ensuring a consistent brand voice across all channels while strengthening TABS’ brand identity
Create marketing and communications processes and procedures to ensure consistency and best practices across all TABS marketing and communications
Monitor and analyze marketing metrics and KPIs, providing reports and insights to guide strategy and optimize performance
Project Management
Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, prioritizing initiatives based on strategic goals, ensuring timely execution, effective resource allocation, and adherence to budget
Oversee the management of Monday.com and lead project management efforts, including overseeing all marketing boards, tracking campaign progress, setting deadlines, and ensuring seamless cross-team collaboration
Lead marketing campaign planning, setting clear timelines, and ensuring all initiatives are executed with precision and quality
Manage the production of printed collateral and promotional materials, ensuring alignment with marketing efforts and TABS’ brand identity
Content Creation, Digital Communications, and Event Promotion
Lead the development and execution of content creation, including writing emails, social media posts, web page content, blog posts, case studies, graphics, and videos to support TABS’ thought leadership
Manage website updates and digital channels to enhance the user experience, drive engagement, and support SEO and analytics goals
Create and build all email campaigns in coordination with the Programs team, keeping an annual calendar of all campaigns and email sends
Create and execute social media campaigns that engage diverse audiences and highlight the benefits of boarding school education
Collaborate with TABS leadership and external partners to produce high-quality publications, such as annual reports and white papers that communicate TABS’ value and impact
Design and implement marketing strategies for TABS programs, events, webinars, conferences, and member gatherings, including content creation and logistical planning
Lead editorial meetings to keep the entire TABS team update on marketing and communications efforts.
Apply best practices in event marketing and planning to ensure successful event execution, from logistics to budgeting and post-event analysis
Act as the primary email manager for the organization, overseeing the strategy, execution, and optimization of email campaigns
Internal Team Collaboration and External Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with senior leadership and team members across the organization to align marketing initiatives with organizational objectives.
Build, mentor and lead a diverse team of marketing and communication contractors
Collaborate with member schools to share their success stories and highlight the impact of boarding school education
Create targeted campaigns to engage prospective families, alumni, donors, and partners, reinforcing TABS’ value proposition and offerings
Budget Management
Create and manage marketing budgets, evaluating success and providing financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility and strategic resource allocation
Perform other duties, as assigned
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
7+ years’ experience in marketing and communications with extensive experience in leading marketing and communications for an organization
Demonstrated ability to bring best practices, systems, and processes to a growing team
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, executing campaigns on time and within budget
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and adapt tone for different audiences
Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels, including social media, content marketing, SEO, email marketing, and analytics
Foundational knowledge and experience in Salesforce and WordPress
Belief in the transformational power of education and eagerness to help schools make a difference in the lives of their students
Strong alignment with TABS’ core values and support for initiatives that benefit member schools and their students
Dedication to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, both within the organization and in interactions with members
BONUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
Salesforce Administrator Certification
Experience with membership organizations and an understanding of driving membership engagement
Knowledge of the independent school sector and/or boarding school education
Knowledge of school admissions and enrollment
