About Society for Corporate Governance, Inc.
The Society for Corporate Governance is a national organization of more than 3,750 corporate governance professionals dedicated to shaping governance and empowering governance professionals through education, collaboration, and advocacy. As a non-for-profit organization (Section 501(c)(6)), our role is to serve our members by providing practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and tools to promote effective governance to foster long-term shareholder value.
Founded in 1946, the Society for Corporate Governance, Inc. (the "Society") is principally composed of corporate secretaries and other executives in governance, ethics, and compliance functions at public, private, and nonprofit organizations, as well as law firms, consulting firms, and other members of the governance community. Members are responsible for supporting boards of directors and executive management in matters such as corporate governance, board practices, compliance, sustainability, regulation and legal matters, shareholder relations, and subsidiary management.

The Society’s committees, chapters, in-person and online events, and community platforms enable members to network and share information, ideas, and resources.
