The Marketing and Web Manager is the owner and driver of marketing across all program and service areas of ESA. The person in this role develops strategy, creates messaging, implements tactics, and analyzes results. The Manager will also serve as supervisor and mentor to the Marketing Coordinator. The goals for this position are to elevate the Society’s brand, programs, and services through innovative thinking, strategic data-driven campaign design, creative execution, and strong analytical analysis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Primary Responsibilities
Lead strategic marketing projects and campaigns from conception to execution to increase conversions, improve member experience, and promote alignment of marketing of programs with strategic plans.
Champion internal cross-team collaboration to provide marketing strategy at the forefront of programs, services, and projects within the Society.
Utilize reporting to examine campaign, website, and email activity for problems or opportunities and develop actionable insights for existing and future campaigns.
Manage and maintain effective integration of marketing and web platforms with ESA association management system.
Supervise work of the Marketing Coordinator and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide assistance to the Director with marketing and web budget management.
Marketing Responsibilities
Own and maintain the Society marketing calendar, ensuring audience segments are contacted efficiently and effectively across channels to increase engagement with ESA programs and services.
Plan, manage, execute, and optimize email design, promotional copywriting, development, scheduling, and deployment of Society email campaigns.
Lead implementation of standardized best practices in multi-touch marketing automation, behavioral and engagement segmentation, deliverability testing, and other processes related to campaign optimization to drive results and improve key metrics.
Integrate cross-channel approaches in marketing campaigns to maximize reach and effectiveness (email, web, social media, print, etc.).
Provide knowledge and assist with compliance of email marketing and data/security best practices for both domestic and global regulations including CASL and GDPR.
Gather and analyze marketing data and draw conclusions to educate future campaigns and initiatives, drive actionable insights, and provide clarity for the team.
Website Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all ESA website properties, ensuring uniformity and a consistent messaging tone throughout. Oversee and update content and design visuals to ensure they comply with branding, online writing standards, and style guide. Work closely with all departments to identify opportunities to improve web experience.
Develop and execute personalization strategies to customize website user experience based on behavioral data and email engagement data.
Drive organic search traffic growth by overseeing SEO-optimized content creation.
Track and report website metrics using web tools such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Measure and analyze campaign effectiveness including email and conversion metrics, generating campaign insights between email marketing and the website to leverage data to help drive strategic decisions for future initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
Serve as the staff expert on the use of the website and email marketing platform; guide and assist staff with marketing and website needs and best practices.
Serve as a brand ambassador and manager, helping train and maintain brand consistency across programs.
Develop creative deliverables that allow for a consistent brand experience as needed, such as collateral, presentations, tradeshow booth graphics, web content, etc.
Manage the ESA Expo Hall booth at the ESA Annual Meeting.
Manage key relationships with vendors, including email and web support partners.
Some travel required to ESA’s Annual Meeting, ESA Branch Meetings, and/or training/educational programs, for a total of approximately 2-3 weeks a year.
Other marketing duties as necessary, including management of member surveys, assistance with membership webinars, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, business, or a related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Association experience a plus.
5-10 years of experience working in email marketing, marketing, or related field.
Demonstrated experience and success with copy editing and copy writing; keen proofreading eye for issues relating to grammar and style.
Experience with email automation platforms and website content management systems.
Thorough knowledge of social media channels and strategies.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) required. Knowledge of Google Analytics preferred.

The salary for this position is currently benchmarked at between $68,500 and $80,000 depending on the candidate. In addition, we offer an excellent benefits package including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, a retirement plan that matches up to 7 percent of annual salary after your first year, free parking, 10 paid holidays, 13 days of vacation the first year, 13 sick days, and flexible work schedules.
