The American Translators Association is seeking an experienced Membership Coordinator to join our growing team of professionals. This position works closely with the Senior Manager, Membership, Chapter Relations and Divisions managing membership marketing, recruitment campaigns, and retention efforts, general customer service, and database management for ATA membership using our new association management software platform. This position also collaborates with the Manager of Professional Development and Events to support ATA programs and events with travel to ATA’s Annual Conference. Experience with Nimble is highly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Membership Engagement and Growth
Manage new member recruitment and retention of existing members through the development and implementation of membership outreach, growth, and retention campaigns.
Create and implement outreach strategies to expand the association’s membership base or to engage with existing members and increase members’ involvement and level of support.
Manage all membership service inquiries while providing an exceptional level of customer service; establish and model service guidelines for staff acting as secondary liaisons.
Manage the annual membership renewal cycle and new member onboarding campaigns.
Manage member surveys and other outreach efforts using our member survey and campaign outreach platform.
Analyze member engagement data and identify trends to proactively address any issues or concerns.
Analyze member benefits and utilization and proactively recommend adjustments or enhancements.
Manage communication channels between members and the association, ensuring that members are informed about member benefits and opportunities.
Process membership applications.
Work with IPAC on credential review process.
Process voting member applications.
Database Management and Reporting
Manage database needs for all memberships in the association management system including the set-up of new memberships, maintenance of membership rosters, and reporting using the association management system.
Manage and update member records, create and maintain distribution lists for the marketing automation system and provide member access for the online Community Hubs.
Collaborate with Marketing & Communications and IT providing regular member reports for dissemination.
Support IT in reporting issues and bugs with the AMS, creating tickets with the platform, and resolving issues, and the integration of the member directory.
Serves as the technical lead for the ATA Membership Database (Nimble) and assists staff with database issues and training needs.
Develops monthly membership reporting that tracks membership trends and demographics and includes data visualization for governance meetings.
Additional Support
Provide support to the Professional Development and Events team in managing conference registration using the association AMS and event registration platforms.
Collaborates within and across departments to achieve individual, departmental, and organizational goals.
Provides administrative support for the ATA Membership Committee and other committees as assigned.
Provides support for ATA Chapters and Divisions.
Assists with identifying opportunities for improved member analytics and membership outreach.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time remote position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job responsibilities demand. Ability to travel to annual conferences and annual staff retreat.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
3-5 years of experience in association/nonprofit membership, marketing and/or component relations.
Experience with membership organizations and volunteers.
Experience working with membership software, preferably an established AMS system (Salesforce, Nimble AMS a plus).
Ability to communicate with staff and volunteers and engage with volunteer committee leadership.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, or related project management software.
Experience with email, survey, and membership marketing tools such as Prop Fuel, MailChimp, and Survey Monkey a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Competent in required job skills and knowledge; exhibit the ability to learn and apply new skills.
Attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines; manage multiple tasks and respond effectively to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand, walk, and reach. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May periodically need to lift files or packages, up to 25 pounds.
