We are seeking an energetic individual who can bring their experience gained at other associations to help us grow our membership through recruitment. The Associate Director of Membership Growth is a new position. While it will be within our membership department, it will work closely with Marketing & Communications to reach, recruit, and retain new members.
Position Summary
The Associate Director of Membership Growth & Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to expand the association's membership base. The focus will be on the recruitment of members and retention through their first renewal. The position reports to the VP of Membership & Certification. This role is critical in driving the organization's growth and enhancing its impact on the pest control industry.
Responsibilities
Work with the membership and communications teams to develop and execute comprehensive member recruitment and retention plans aligned with the association's overall strategic goals.
Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify potential members and develop targeted recruitment strategies.
Assist in the development and implementation of member value propositions and communication plans to attract and engage new members.
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including pest control companies, and industry influencers.
Manage and grow a list of prospective members through the association's membership database.
Utilize data analytics to track membership trends and performance metrics.
Collaborate with other departments, specifically the NPMA Marketing and Communications team, to ensure seamless member onboarding and support.
Represent the association at industry events and conferences to promote membership benefits and build relationships.
Track and analyze membership metrics to measure the effectiveness of recruitment and retention efforts.
Assist in the development and management of the recruitment portion of the membership budget.
Utilizes excellent customer service skills to meet organizational goals and department goals.
Meets customer needs through direct member services to include phone, email and face to face.
Serves customers with a strong customer service work ethic, diplomacy, and sensitivity
Reviews and assists the membership team with data entry and works with the head of IT to ensure standard processes for data management.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in membership development or related field.
Experience working in a trade association or professional association.
Proven track record of achieving membership growth targets.
Strong understanding of the pest control industry and its challenges.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong ability to write concise and impactful messages to current and prospective members.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in CRM (specifically Aptify) and software and data analysis tools.
