Reporting to the Executive Director, the fundraising lead is responsible for direct outreach and pull through of sponsorships and other monetary contributions at the National and Chapter level overseeing a database of new and renewing sponsors who are committed to the mission of Women In Bio.
The fundraising lead is an integral part of Women In Bio and involved in strategic planning, budgeting, growth and going to scale planning and implementation. Alongside the leadership team, the individual works to promote a strong organizational mission and culture. Importantly, the individual serves as a key thought partner for our executive director, sponsorship committee chairs, and ultimately board of directors.
Position Overview: The Associate Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes sponsorships, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director to develop fundraising goals and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
Execute a sponsorship strategy with life science organizations that benefits local chapter and national initiatives.
Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
Collaborate with the Communications and Programs teams to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials to attract mission driven sponsors.
Work closely with the Executive Director and Development Committee to develop fundraising strategies and goals.
Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in sponsor pull through, major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
Strong leadership and eagerness to drive new revenue initiatives
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with management, colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
