AOC is seeking a full-time Senior Membership Manager to join our team. In this role, you will provide oversight and management of the entire membership cycle, including prospect identification and outreach development of strategies to optimize recruitment and retention. This role will drive strategic initiatives to grow and retain the membership base, enhance member value, and oversee the development of recruitment and retention programs for individuals and organizations. The Senior Membership Manager will manage membership data, optimize processes, and collaborate with other departments to support member-focused programs.
Membership Recruitment & Retention:
Develop and execute strategies to attract new members and retain existing members, including tailored campaigns for different membership segments (individual, corporate, student, international, etc.).
Monitor and analyze membership trends, adjusting strategies to meet recruitment and retention goals.
Implement renewal efforts, including managing membership cycles, Primarily for Organizational Memberships.
Generate new organizational leads through independent research and other sources.
Member Services & Support:
Oversee member inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
Oversee the management of the membership database, ensuring data integrity, and generate reports to assess member demographics and trends.
Continuously enhance the member onboarding process to create a positive first experience for new members.
Budget & Reporting:
Work with the Director of Member Operations to develop and manage the membership dues budget, including forecasting and tracking financial performance
Prepare regular reports on membership metrics, providing insights to leadership on progress toward goals.
Monitor and report on key retention metrics, including renewal rates, churn rates, and member lifetime value, to inform strategies and decision-making.
Collaboration & Leadership:
Serve as the key liaison with other departments, such as marketing, events, and education, to ensure alignment of membership goals with organizational objectives.
Supervise and mentor junior membership staff, fostering a culture of high performance and professional development.
Work with the Director of Member Services to develop and execute membership strategic and operating plans for AOC, ensuring that goals are met in the following areas: membership recruitment and retention.
Membership Engagement:
Design and manage member engagement initiatives to increase participation, satisfaction, and overall value to members.
Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to develop and distribute targeted membership messaging and promotional materials.
• Bachelor’s degree • Minimum of 5 years of experience in membership management or operations, preferably with an association. • Experience working with organizational memberships. • Demonstrated success in developing and executing membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies. • Strong analytical skills and experience using membership CRM systems • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a member-centric approach. • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with different departments and stakeholders. • Experience managing budgets and reporting on financial and membership performance. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, dependable. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
