The National Limousine Association (NLA) is a non-profit organization responsible for and dedicated to representing the interests of the private driver transportation industry at the global, national, state, and local level. It is the unified voice of this industry – linking transportation industry professionals from owners and operators to suppliers, manufacturers, regional and state limousine associations. With approximately 1,300 NLA members, the Association is committed to exceeding expectations with regards to professionalism, transportation efficiency, and safe riding.
POSITION SUMMARY
The NLA is seeking an enthusiastic team player who loves to engage with others, brings creativity, and has a passion for taking NLA membership to the next level.
The Membership & Engagement Manager will lead efforts to grow, retain, and engage members by managing the day-to-day membership operations and communications. He/she is an integral member of the NLA team and will work closely with the existing staff, NLA Board members, members, and volunteers.
Key responsibilities include analyzing membership trends, managing the AMS/database for member data, and ensuring effective daily membership operations. The Membership & Engagement Manager also responds to member inquiries, supports committees, and provides data-driven membership reports. This full-time, nonsupervisory position reports to the Deputy Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn, understand, and communicate the NLA membership benefits to current members, lapsed members, and prospective members through various channels such as telephone, email, at industry trade shows, and local association events.
This is the main priority of this role with an emphasis on being outgoing and comfortable calling current, lapsed, and prospective members.
Utilize management and leadership skills to facilitate the continued growth of the Association.
Maintain and update membership database (Rhythm) and its contents including new members, contact information, prospects, etc.
Assist in creating, editing, and quality control of documents including renewal invoices, member benefits materials, etc.
Print and mail membership invoices, certificates, new member kits, etc.
Attend NLA meetings and events both virtually and in person as needed.
Manage NLA Committees as assigned.
Assist with multiple aspects of event and Show planning.
Schedule internal and external meetings.
Manage and execute assigned programs and initiatives.
Process invoices and prepare vouchers for expenses – per policies.
Accurately code membership dues revenue for financial reporting.
This is not meant to be all-inclusive as other duties may be assigned.

Ability to multitask by working on several projects/initiatives simultaneously.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS
Strong understanding of trade association membership programs and procedures, especially those related to dues management.
A zeal for engaging with current, lapsed, and prospective members of the Association.
Management experience, especially overseeing membership and customer service-related functions.
Working knowledge of AMS databases (NLA is currently switching to Rhythm) and understanding the importance of keeping accurate/updated data
Proficient with all applications in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook and ability to use or quickly learn sites such as Constant Contact, Jotform, Survey Monkey, and others.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Solid understanding of the membership sales process.
Practical knowledge, skills and abilities usually acquired through an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to report on progress of projects, initiatives, goals, etc.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing and able to travel approximately 2-3 times per year for NLA meetings and events and an additional 2-4 times per year to staff booth at industry trade shows.
90-DAY PROBATIONARY PERIOD
All new NLA staff members are subject to a 90-Day Probationary Period.
Completion of the 90-Day Introductory Period does not entitle you to remain employed by the NLA for any definite period of time.
Both you and the NLA are free, at any time, with or without notice and with or without cause, to end the employment relationship.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
4-year college degree strongly preferred.
3-5 years’ experience working for non-profit association preferred.
Sales experience a plus.
