The Marketing Manager, reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, plays a key role in advancing the Nuclear Energy Institute’s (NEI) mission: “A world powered by clean and reliable energy.” This role focuses on planning, executing, and managing marketing strategies that elevate NEI’s brand and advocacy efforts.
The Marketing Manager collaborates with teams across Conferences/Events, External Communications, Creative, and Membership to plan and execute strategic marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate excels at managing multiple projects—ranging from long-term initiatives to quick-turnaround tasks—to effectively promote NEI’s events, programs, and services. Responsibilities include developing strategies, maintaining timelines, creating content, and ensuring timely delivery of all marketing materials.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Conferences/Events Marketing
Plan and execute marketing campaigns to drive audience engagement and increase revenue for NEI events.
Manage email campaigns using tools like Marketo, including content creation and performance tracking.
Develop sponsorship marketing assets in collaboration with the Conferences/Events team.
Manage event webpages via Kentico, ensuring optimized registration processes and landing pages.
Membership Engagement and Recruitment
Develop and implement membership recruitment, renewal, and engagement campaigns.
Create personalized email campaigns and track their effectiveness using Marketo and Google Analytics.
Promote NEI membership benefits and services, including online training and other offerings.
Cross-Department and Special Projects
Develop social media strategies to promote events, drive membership, and market special programs.
Write and edit multi-channel marketing content, including blog posts, emails, and web copy.
Oversee marketing strategies for special programs, such as video series, newsletters, and member outreach.
Marketing Operations and Quality Assurance
Ensure all marketing collateral adheres to NEI's brand standards and meets quality guidelines.
Regularly update marketing practices to align with industry trends and best practices.
Maintain an organized file-naming system and asset management process to ensure team efficiency and collaboration.
Digital Marketing and Advertising
Partner with the Digital Communications team to execute campaigns across Google Ads, social media, and retargeting platforms.
Monitor and analyze the performance of campaigns, using Google Analytics, Marketo, and other reporting tools to optimize marketing strategies.
Project Management and Optimization
Use tools like Monday.com to plan projects and track deliverables, ensuring timely completion across events and membership initiatives.
Continuously evaluate and improve workflows to enhance campaign planning and reporting.
Utilize Power BI for project performance tracking and reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement and Technology Training
Provide marketing tool guidance and best practices to internal teams.
Collaborate with IT to create training resources, including video tutorials and guides, for onboarding and ongoing team education.
Metrics, Reporting, and Strategy Optimization
Track and analyze campaign performance using analytics and reporting tools.
Present data-driven insights to optimize strategies, improve ROI, and identify cross-promotion opportunities.
Conduct market research to inform audience targeting, product positioning, and strategy refinement.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in marketing or communications, with at least 4 years managing marketing projects from strategy through execution.
Experience with membership marketing, event marketing, or philanthropy is a plus.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Proficiency in CRM platforms for customer relationship management and campaign tracking (experience with Impexium is preferred).
Expertise in email marketing automation platforms like Marketo or Constant Contact.
Skilled in website content management and website optimization platforms like Kentico or WordPress.
Strong knowledge of digital marketing, including social media, Google Ads, and SEO best practices.
Content creation experience across various formats, including written and visual storytelling.
Project management expertise, with familiarity in tools like Monday.com, Basecamp, Asana, or similar.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
Analytical skills with experience using tools like Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, and Marketo for reporting and optimization.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.
Pay Range:
For employees who live in the Washington, DC Metro area, the salary range for this position is $80,240 to $120,360 annually. Typically, new hires are brought into the organization at a salary range between the minimum and midpoint, depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted salary for the role.
