The Podiatry Institute (PI) is seeking a dynamic and innovative Executive Director to replace a long-serving Executive Director who is retiring. The next Executive Director will ensure that the PI continues to deliver the high quality education programs of the PI. This individual should be technologically and social media savvy with a strong work ethic and the ability to take the PI to the next level. This individual will also identify and develop new opportunities to increase the PI’s impact on the profession and advance the mission of the PI.
The Executive Director shall be responsible for:
The day-to-day administration of the PI including accounting, communications, and staff and volunteer management.
Provide leadership, vision, and guidance to assist the Board of Directors in the strategic vision of the PI.
For the development and implementation, with the assistance of the Scientific Committee, of continuing education programs that are cutting edge and consistent with the mission of the PI.
Aggressive marketing of the PI’s programs through social media, print, and direct mail advertising.
For the development and execution of processes to ensure effective governance of the PI including communications with the Board and engagement of the volunteer faculty and alumni.
Engage with the podiatric residency program at Emory Decatur Hospital to assist with the educational programs and help train the next generation of faculty.
Maintain annual financial goals in cooperation with the Board of Directors to ensure the long-term financial stability of the PI.
5 plus years of senior-level leadership experience.
Bachelor’s degree or higher. Advanced degrees and certification in association management is a plus.
Proven experience in operational leadership, communications, and strategic thinking.
Collaborative leadership style in working with board, staff, and volunteer members.
Senior-level experience in non-profit finances, legal compliance, and marketing.
The Podiatry Institute is located in Decatur Georgia on the campus of Emory Decatur Hospital. Founded over 50 years ago, the PI has been at the forefront of advancing the podiatric profession through continuing education conferences, textbooks, workshops, and medical mission work. The PI’s mission “To be a supportive, global network of members, colleagues and friends which enhances the quality of life for patients with foot, ankle, and leg disorders through innovative education, research and service”, has led to the organization and its members being some of the most-respected leaders in the podiatric profession. The PI conducts 8-10 education conferences around the country. It currently has 150 alumni members and an annual budget of $2 million.
