Position: Senior Director, Education & Events

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Membership, Education, & Programs

Location: Arlington, VA/Hybrid or Remote

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), the leading professional association for infection preventionists, is seeking a Senior Director of Education & Events to provide strategic leadership for educational programming by leveraging APIC’s strategic plan, creating innovative and quality programming, and bringing best practices to program execution.

As the Senior Director of Education & Events, you will successfully and effectively execute goals and strategies for the Education and Events department by managing staff, staffing allocated committees, and overseeing external partners to achieve yearly departmental and organizational goals.  You will manage department budgets, provide high-level project management, execute educational development plans, and direct the program team.  You will look at all educational offerings strategically and bring forward innovation and best practices in learning and conferences. 

This position is responsible for understanding the training and professional development needs of APIC’s members and customers, including designing and implementing business strategies for revenue growth, and ensures that APIC’s offerings maintain a consistently high standard and that APIC’s training solutions continuously meet the industry’s evolving needs in terms of content, instructional design, user experience, and technology.  This position reports to the SVP of Membership, Education, & Programs and supervises three direct reports.

Qualified candidates offer:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 10 years of experience in a management role, designing, promoting, and managing educational programs, preferably for healthcare professionals
• 10 years of progressive experience in leadership
• Demonstrated experience developing proposal budgets, narratives, and scopes of work
• Experience in an association setting, working with committees
• Experience with hybrid, in person, and remote training methodologies and technologies
• Experience with accreditation and certification for educational activities

Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000
