The Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) is the formally chartered, nationwide network of over 300 federal laboratories, agencies, and research centers, that fosters commercialization, best practice strategies, and opportunities, for accelerating federal technologies out of the labs and into the marketplace. The FLC is funded by a cooperative grant agreement that is awarded to and administered by AUTM.

Position Description: As the accounting manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting needs of the organization, monitoring and enforcing processes to ensure accurate and timely accounting. This is a newly created position in the final stage of the initiative to bring the accounting processes in-house. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director of Finance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the accounts payable/expense processing
Maintain vendor records such as W-9s, contracts, quotes, bids, and bid requests
Serve as the primary backup for the accounts receivable/revenue processing
Assist in the preparation and posting of routine journal entries
Reconcile bank, credit card, and other accounts as part of the monthly close
Maintain support materials for monthly financial package and a smooth audit
Attend the AUTM Finance Committee, Investment Committee, and Audit Committee meetings as a support staffer and backup meeting lead
Assist with intercompany reporting between the AUTM Foundation and AUTM, and intra-organizational reporting between AUTM and the Federal Laboratory Consortium
Serve as lead contact for day-to-day accounting questions, employee onboarding and troubleshooting
Assist the Senior Director in the annual financial audit process, single audit process, and other regulatory examinations/reviews as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
2+ years of accounting experience or equivalent work experience
Strong attention to detail and documentation
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with minimal oversight
Experience with NetSuite software is a plus, but is not required
Experience with Ramp software is a plus, but is not required
CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus, but is not required
Prior work with associations and/or with government grants is a plus, but is not required
SALARY/BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually
Two weeks (80 hours) of sick leave accrued annually on a semi-monthly
Four weeks (160 hours) of general PTO (commonly referred to as vacation) accrued annually on a semi-monthly basis.
100% employer-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees, and 50% employer-paid premiums for dependents
Traditional 401(k) and Roth 401(k) options with up to a 5% employer match (match is Traditional 401(k) regardless of employee selection)
