The Membership Engagement Manager plays a vital role at the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN), a professional association representing over 1,100 associate degree nursing programs. This individual contributor position drives membership engagement, retention, and system management (AMS) while ensuring an exceptional member experience.
This role requires a blend of program development, operational oversight, and hands-on implementation. The ideal candidate is both people- and data-oriented, with strong technical and communication skills. They will coordinate multiple projects, oversee business processes, and provide updates to leadership.
As OADN operates fully remotely, this position requires self-motivation, collaboration, and adaptability. The Member Engagement Manager must be a self-starter who embraces accountability and understands that their role directly impacts the organization's and its members' success.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in communications, marketing, business, public administration, policy, health, or related field.
Experience: Preference is given to candidates with work experience in volunteer or membership management, particularly within a professional association or other non-profit organization.
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Supervises: Oversees volunteers and occasionally supervises contractors. Does not oversee direct employee reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Membership Engagement
Manage Association Management System (AMS) collaborative community workspaces for committees, task forces, and special interest groups.
Develop and deploy AMS modules and members-focused features, including a member job board and centralized repository of OADN benefits, that enhance member engagement and the overall OADN member experience.
Generate insightful reports on member usage of the AMS.
Establish metrics to track engagement trends and support new engagement programs.
Train staff and members on AMS functionalities to maximize usage.
Volunteer Management
Recruit, engage, and support volunteers across OADN committees and task forces.
Coordinate committee logistics, including quarterly reports, action plans, and strategic goals.
Ensure timely reporting for the Board of Directors.
Governance Support (Under the direction of the CEO)
Assist the Board of Directors with administration, documentation, and policy management.
Oversee updates to the Board Policy and Procedure Handbook.
Provide operational support for virtual and in-person board meetings.
Administrative & Event Support
Administer the OADN Foundation’s annual scholarship and awards process.
Manage smaller projects aligned with OADN’s strategic priorities.
Maintain organizational files and documents in Microsoft Teams.
Assist with OADN Annual Convention planning and provide on-site support.

Membership Systems – Familiarity with AMS/CRM platforms for managing member engagement.
Professional Associations – Understanding of membership retention strategies and volunteer engagement.
Nonprofit Governance – Knowledge of board operations, policy development, and documentation.
Event & Program Planning – Experience organizing virtual and in-person events.
