The Executive Director (ED) is the sole employee and chief executive officer of ASPA. The ED supports the Board of Directors in fulfilling ASPA’s mission, carries out policies and procedures of the Association, operates the national office, serves as ASPA’s spokesperson and provides leadership in fulfillment of the Association's purposes, functions and strategic initiatives.

• Experience with accreditation and peer review evaluation processes.
• Familiarity with the structure, processes, and issues in postsecondary and higher education.
• Experience as senior level staff with management responsibilities at a non-profit organization or association.
• Knowledge of budget development and financial management of a non-profit organization.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Experience in working with professional service providers (attorneys, accountants, computer consultants).
