Job responsibilities are “full time” and will be compensated on an annual salary basis with twice-monthly pay to be determined by the CEO based on the selected applicant’s qualifications and experience. The Committee Resource Coordinator is responsible for the administration of one or more NENA Standards and Best Practices Development workgroup activities. The position supports NENA’s status as an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Standards Development Organization (SDO) by ensuring all processes are followed to secure approval of any ANSI-candidate standards document.
Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following task assignments:
Coordinates workgroup efforts that support NENA’s standards and best practices development work and ensures adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
Serves as the coordinator to one or more workgroups, managing their roster, workload, priorities, meetings, schedules, and document production as well as organizing the workgroup’s virtual meetings.
Facilitates documents through the development and approval processes to include ANSI form submittals, document editing, ballot administration, and comment review and response management.
Facilitates the NENA Development Group deliverable style editing.
Documents compliance with NENA and ANSI procedures associated to the workgroup efforts, as applicable.
Communicates with workgroup members such as roster outreach, meeting and conference deliverables, questions about procedures, and training related to the document development and approval process.
Uses NENA community collaboration tools and resources.
Assists the Committee Resource Manager with duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Experience in standards development, particularly by having directly participated in one or more NENA workgroups as a committee or working group co-chair, notetaker, document editor, or member.
Expertise in 9-1-1 operations or 9-1-1 technology, such as experience working as a 9-1-1 telecommunicator, supervisor, manager, or administrator, 9-1-1 system administration or governance, public safety database or technology support, 9-1-1 services or product development, consultant, etc.
Three years of standards development and/or public safety industry experience.
Technical Competencies:
Familiarity with Community Collaboration Tools (e.g., Higher Logic Workspace)
Communication platforms, including Slack, Zoom, MS Teams
Internet Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer)
Proficient knowledge of the NENA Development Group Organizational Structure and Operational Procedures, NENA-ADM-001, and NENA Knowledgebase.
Knowledge of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Essential Requirements.
Knowledge of the 9-1-1 Industry
Knowledge of NENA Products & Services
Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
