ALA seeks a Membership and Communications Specialist to support one division: Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures.
Responsibilities Include:
The Membership and Communications Specialist will primarily work to enhance member growth and engagement through marketing and communication initiatives. This includes but is not limited to:
Promoting division member recruitment and engagement through strategic outreach and communication.
Producing marketing and communications content for Core, including press releases, marketing flyers and brochures, email communications and other promotional materials.
Managing the divisions’ social media presence.
Managing the awards program and Interest Group week.
Providing staff leadership to select member committees and cohorts.
This is a regular full-time position based in our Chicago office.
ALA staff are currently working on a hybrid schedule. Please note that although we have a generous telecommuting policy for our employees, we do not have any truly remote positions in states outside of our workplace sites.
ALA currently requires that employees be fully vaccinated as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Proof of vaccination will be required on or before start date.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
5-7 years working in a nonprofit, association, library, or related professional setting that can provide insight into members’ needs.
Proficient with social media platforms and applications.
Intermediate to advance proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
