ASAE is the essential organization for association management, representing both organizations and individual association professionals. We are looking for someone to join our team as the Director of Credentialing. Summary/Objective The Director of Credentialing oversees the positioning, management, and administration of the Certified Association Executive (CAE) Certification, the association profession’s premiere credential. The Director works directly with the certifying body (CAE Commission), CAE committees, psychometric firm(s), and key vendors to ensure the program adheres to the CAE Commission's Standing Rules and Policies. The Director oversees the support of and communication with CAE candidates, certificants, volunteers, and other applicable stakeholder groups. The Director serves as a staff content expert on credentialing topics and issues.

Develop and execute long term growth strategies in collaboration with CFAO and Marketing team.
Supervise the Credentialing Manager, ensuring effective management and operations of the CAE Program.
Serve as the primary staff liaison to the CAE Commission and the five standing CAE committees: Appeals, Exam, Item-Writing, Professional Conduct, and Registered Provider, as well as various CAE subcommittees and task forces.
Lead the planning and execution of committee activities, including crafting comprehensive agendas in collaboration with committee members, and organizing orientations for each committee to ensure member preparedness and effective engagement.
Serve as primary staff liaison for the program's psychometric consultant, facilitating the implementation of all policies and procedures approved by the CAE Commission.
Serve as primary staff liaison for the program's psychometric consultant, facilitating the implementation of the Job Task Analysis process and exam content outline update every five years.
Lead internal and external communications regarding the CAE Program, aiming to enhance visibility and understanding of earning and maintaining the CAE credential and updates and changes to the CAE exam, renewal, and registered provider program.
Manage the CAE exam administration, oversee the communication of credentialing decisions, and maintain accurate certification records.
Supervise the evaluation and processing of CAE applications.
Manage the CAE Registered Provider program, including approval of initial and renewal applications and maintaining the online provider list. Monitor and notify providers whose status has expired that they are no longer authorized to promote courses for CAE credit.
Collaborate with the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer to align the CAE Program with ASAE’s strategic goals and core values.
Develop the CAE Program’s budget and oversee its review with the Chief Finance and Administrative throughout the fiscal year.
Consult with legal counsel on CAE Commission, Professional Conduct Committee, and CAE Program matters issues as necessary.
Represent the CAE Program at the ASAE Annual Meeting each year and other relevant job duties.
Oversee the development, management, and promotion of CAE surveys (post-exam, CAE, and expired CAE), including analyzing and reporting survey data, updating website content with survey findings, and communicating relevant information to necessary stakeholders.
Deliver presentations about the CAE credential to various CAE Program stakeholder groups upon request.
Respond to inquiries and communication from various CAE Program stakeholder groups (ASAE staff, ASAE members, candidates, certificants, etc.) in collaboration with the Credentialing Manager.
Notify State Societies of Association Executives (SAEs) of CAE Program developments and changes.
Participate in professional development opportunities relevant to credentialing professionals.
Oversee the CAE LinkedIn group, managing membership access and monitoring discussions.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience, training and certifications required
Minimum of ten years of experience in the certification or association management industry
Knowledge of accreditation and certification processes as well as an understanding of adult learning
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with a certification program that has earned NCCA accreditation preferred.
Volunteer management experience required. Experience with a credentialing policy board preferred.
