The Senior Manager, Marketing will partner with the Vice President, Strategic Marketing to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for a wide range of initiatives, including educational conferences, meetings, webinars, newsletters, and membership recruitment and retention efforts. This role will focus on driving engagement and attendance, supporting AAAE staff in sales and promotions, and ensuring consistent communication with members. The Senior Manager will also work across departments to enhance member benefits and brand visibility, utilizing innovative approaches to attract and retain members.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and implement marketing strategies for conferences, meetings, webinars, newsletters, and member communications. Focus on utilizing both traditional and innovative digital methods, such as email marketing and social media, to maximize attendance and engagement.
Craft compelling, error-free copy across various formats, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand messaging. Edit and refine content as necessary to enhance audience engagement and maintain a high-quality brand voice.
Monitor market conditions, conduct customer research, and analyze data to continuously refine and adapt marketing plans. Use A/B testing and other growth tactics to explore new channels and methods for driving engagement and conversions.
Track and evaluate the ROI of marketing initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to meet performance goals and support business objectives.
Oversee updates to AAAE’s website, particularly for event promotions and membership-related content. Ensure the site remains an effective tool for driving engagement and conversions.
Develop print and electronic sales-support materials for staff in charge of selling exhibits and sponsorships.
Work closely with other departments to integrate marketing efforts with broader organizational goals and ensure alignment across all initiatives.
Support other areas of marketing as needed.
Position requires some travel.
Perform related duties as assigned to support overall marketing and organizational goals.
Education, prior work experience, and specialized skills and knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business administration and a minimum of 7 years of related marketing experience, preferably at an association
Candidate needs to be especially tech savvy and possess in-depth knowledge of HubSpot and Microsoft Office programs as well as be proficient in using a PC. Knowledge of Google Analytics, iMIS, and Adobe Creative Cloud are a plus
Strong organizational and project management skills required, with ability to manage projects from conception to completion and produce results under pressure and tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills required, including written, verbal, and interpersonal
Experience in building brand image, with extensive knowledge of email marketing, social media, database marketing, and automated marketing strategies and techniques
Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate a busy department
