The Director of the AOC Foundation will oversee all operations of our Foundation, driving strategic growth through effective planning, program development, and organizational management. As the first full-time employee dedicated to the Foundation, this role will be instrumental in designing and implementing key infrastructure to support our mission. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day operations, including budgeting, financial tracking, program administration, and reporting. Additionally, they will develop and refine systems for efficient workflow, compliance, and recordkeeping while supporting the execution of our scholarship disbursement, fundraising, and STEM engagement initiatives to ensure long-term impact and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Development
Establish and implement foundational systems, processes, and policies to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Design and build a sustainable framework for financial management, program tracking, compliance, and recordkeeping.
Assist in recruiting and managing committees and board members to support the foundation’s initiatives.
Operational Management
Oversee daily operations, including budgeting, expense tracking, reporting, and financial reconciliation, to support the Foundation's financial health and transparency.
Coordinate logistics for Foundation programs, events, and fundraising initiatives to maximize impact and engagement.
Develop and manage the foundation’s annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Work closely with the foundation’s board, providing regular updates on activities, progress, and financial health.
Program Development and Management
Develop and expand the foundation programs including, but not limited to scholarships, STEM, awards, and activities aligning with the Foundation’s mission.
Monitor program effectiveness through data collection, analysis, and regular reporting; make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Fundraising and Donor Relations
Design and execute fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and oversee donor stewardship efforts to increase funding and support for Foundation programs.
Identify new funding opportunities, including grants, CFC, partnerships, and individual donors, to support the Foundation’s growth goals.
Manage donor recognition and stewardship programs to maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors.
Stakeholder and Community Engagement
Collaborate with internal teams, board and committee members, chapters, and other external partners for program development to further the Foundation’s mission and enhance visibility.
Organize and participate in outreach events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the foundation’s visibility.
Build relationships with industry and educational stakeholders to promote the foundation’s mission.
Develop communication strategies to promote programs, scholarships, and fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and sponsorship acquisition.
Strong understanding of scholarship management and educational program development.
Exceptional communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including corporate partners, educational institutions, and association members.
Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning abilities.
Prior experience leading or managing an educational foundation or similar nonprofit organization.
Familiarity with association management and working with boards.
