Job Overview
The SGO currently has an extraordinary opportunity for a member-centered self-starter to join the team as the Sr. Manager of Member Services. We are looking for an individual to bring their passion and excitement to our fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The successful incumbent will be highly detail orientated, organized, and collaborative while managing multiple projects simultaneously. They will see the big picture and embrace change to ensure they meet their goals and the goals of the SGO and FWC.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Sr. Manager of Member Services is responsible for recruitment and retention strategies in line with the SGO strategic goals. This position plays an important strategic role in promoting SGO member benefits and will focus on creating value by delivering exemplary member service, meticulous database management and reporting, thought leadership, and heightened awareness of the member perspective to all SGO staff members.
The Sr. Manager of Member Services position is responsible for the programs, practices, and processes that generate approximately 15% of the Society’s income from membership dues. This position serves as the “chief advocate” for all members, and from that perspective, will look at member benefits, access, and opportunities, and offer recommendations to continuously improve the member experience. The Sr. Manager of Member Services will personify the SGO/FWC internal values of Service Excellence, Respect, Accountability and Quality.
What You Will Do
This position is responsible for developing project plans for the implementation of all strategic objectives that relate to SGO membership initiatives. The scope of responsibility includes collaborating with volunteer leaders to suggest strategic initiatives to attract new members, and to assess or develop programs, benefits, activations, etc., to retain current members. This position will lead the membership team with oversight for data integrity, membership reporting, and overall customer service. The Sr. Manager of Member Services is also responsible for developing and monitoring budgets and developing staff.

Requirements for Success
CRM database user experience. Salesforce experience is strongly preferred.
5-7 years of experience in membership management and working with volunteer leaders.
Experience managing people to accomplish goals and complete projects.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including MSWord, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
In addition, the Sr. Manager of Member Services will have successfully managed change; be an innovative problem-solver; demonstrate thoughtful and polished customer service through excellent communication skills; demonstrate agility, managing complex relationships with grace, confidence, and sensitivity; and serve as a role model for integrity and professional conduct.
The work of the SGO is conducted primarily in a remote office environment with occasional requirements to be onsite for group meetings and events. Travel is required approximately 10 days per year.
