Position Overview: The Sponsorship Manager is responsible for developing and executing customized sponsorship programs, including partnership programs designed exclusively for our existing members. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, this role requires a strategic, collaborative approach to identify and nurture sponsorship opportunities within our membership base, develop compelling sponsorship packages, and drive revenue while delivering exceptional member value.
Collaborate with the supervisor and senior leadership to align sponsorship/partnership strategies with overall organizational goals.
Design and refine sponsorship packages tailored specifically for our membership, ensuring each offering delivers exceptional value and meets member needs.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the membership base.
Prospecting & Member Engagement:
Identify and engage current members with untapped sponsorship opportunities that align with their business objectives and the Chamber’s strategic priorities.
Utilize various channels—such as in-person meetings, calls, email, and social media—to communicate the benefits of tailored sponsorship packages.
Sales & Negotiation:
Present customized sponsorship/partnership solutions to existing members, articulating the value proposition and negotiating agreements that meet revenue targets while enhancing member satisfaction.
Collaborate directly with members to adjust and personalize sponsorship packages to their unique needs.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain long-term relationships with member sponsors, ensuring ongoing satisfaction, active engagement, and high retention rates.
Serve as the primary liaison between member sponsors and internal teams, ensuring seamless activation and fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing, events, and membership—to integrate sponsorship initiatives with broader organizational objectives.
Share best practices and insights with colleagues to continuously refine and optimize sponsorship offerings.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Monitor and analyze sponsorship revenue and key performance metrics, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and drive continuous improvement in sponsorship performance.
Other:
Hybrid is defined as at least one day a week in the office.
Event attendance is required which may be outside normal business hours
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sponsorship sales, business development, or a related role; experience in a membership organization or chamber environment is a plus.
Demonstrated success in developing sponsorship portfolios, achieving revenue targets, and building strong, lasting relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with MC Trade (Atlas) is an advantage.

We are a Regional chamber with significant member segments in technology, government contractors, nonprofit organizations, banking, and professional services across the Greater Washington Region.
