The Development Director leads assigned fundraising projects and is responsible for supporting United Community’s corporate outreach including managing corporate volunteerism and raising corporate support, cultivating, and stewarding mid-level donors, supporting grant research, and creating pathways to engage emerging leaders. This position includes important departmental operations, donor tracking, donor research, proposal writing and submission, managing gift entry/acknowledgments and implementation of the Department's policies and procedures. The Development Director will be responsible for supporting the Chief Revenue Officer in the execution of an overall comprehensive fundraising plan that includes an array of fundraising strategies that generate revenue in support of United Community’s mission and vision.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
Strategic Fundraising:?Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan, monitor progress regularly, and adjust strategies as needed.
Donor Engagement:?Achieve significant growth in major gifts and cultivate new major donors through targeted engagement strategies. Increase the overall donor base substantially.
Community Partnerships:?Establish new strategic partnerships with civic, faith, and corporate communities, and secure increased financial, in-kind, and volunteer support.
Event Management:?Plan and execute major fundraising events with innovative approaches that increase event revenue year over year.

Leadership:?Provide transformational leadership to the Development and Communications team, ensuring staff understand and effectively fulfill their role in the execution of the overall strategy.
Communication:?Serve as one of the key spokespeople for the organization, gaining an in-depth understanding of the organization’s values, policies, culture, history, key stakeholders, programs, donor base, and finances.
Strategic Planning:?Develop and implement a dynamic fundraising strategy that drives new donor growth and retention while meeting and surpassing current goals.
Marketing:?Work with the CDCO to manage and execute a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy to elevate the organization’s mission, highlight its programs, drive its fundraising initiatives, manage, and update website to ensure widespread recognition and support.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree
3 years of nonprofit fundraising or related experience
Demonstrated record of accomplishment of successful fundraising experience
Corporate/Foundation giving, donor cultivation and recognition, donor records, and acknowledgments.
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Innovative and creative thinkers are a plus.
Experience in a multi-tasking work environment with an elevated level of professionalism.
Experience with managing high visibility projects and carrying them through.
Available to work occasional evenings and weekends and extended major events.
Experience and proficiency with CRM database management.
Attentive, persistent, and flexible.
Ability to take direction and set priorities as assigned.
Leadership skills, including the ability to think and plan strategically in the context of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to handle many simultaneous responsibilities, be flexible and well-organized.
