Mountain Lake Services, a nonprofit organization located in the beautiful Adirondacks is dedicated to partnering with people of all abilities to live their very best life. For over 50 years we have offered a full array of services to support people including residential programs, meaningful employment opportunities, and family support. Challenging the status quo and relying on innovation and passion to navigate complex systems while focusing on people first has been our mantra. Our organization is now seeking a new Executive Director to lead us into our next chapter of growth.
The Executive Director (ED) will provide visionary leadership and operational oversight to ensure the continued success and growth of Mountain Lake Services. The ED will work closely with the people supported, the Board of Directors, staff, community partners, and stakeholders to implement the organization’s mission and strategic goals. This role will be key in maintaining high-quality services, steering our dedicated teams, and ensuring the financial viability of the organization.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in the nonprofit sector, with a preference for experience in services related to developmental disabilities or other health care services in New York State. OPWDD experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of nonprofit management, strong fiscal management and strategic planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, Board members, and community partners.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a mission-driven organizational culture
As the Chapter of The Arc New York in Essex County, the history of Mountain Lake Services is one of evolution, expansion and individual focus.
Beginning in 1967 with 15 North Country citizens concerned with the lack of supports for people with disabilities, deciding to form a committee to address these needs, continuing with the opening of Essex Industries and local group homes in 1974, never looking back from that time forward, Mountain Lake Services is a fascinating story with many chapters, many highlights, all involving inclusion, independence, and success.
