Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000. Additionally, BOMA provides a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to:

To that end, BOMI is hiring a Director of Learning & Development to lead our expanding Education team in updating and developing relevant, modern course content, through varied delivery methods, that meet the educational and professional development needs of our growing, multi-generational workforce.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Director of Learning & Development manages the day-to-day operations of the Learning & Development team to develop and design high quality educational offerings that ensure the organization remains competitive in the educational and learning needs of property, facility, and building maintenance professionals. The Director of Learning & Development is responsible for working collaboratively with contract instructors, consultants, SMEs, and other key stakeholders to achieve project goals as defined in strategic and operational plans to fulfill learners needs.
This role’s dynamic nature requires enthusiasm for education across diverse audiences, and exemplary project management and organization skills. The ideal candidate will have professional expertise with emerging technologies and instructional design strategies to enhance learning outcomes, products, and credential quality, and be able to advance the department’s depth and breadth of learning content. In addition, analytical skills are imperative for monitoring and reporting learners’ participation and engagement against BOMA’s strategic and operational goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Commands a thorough knowledge of all BOMI International product materials for all delivery methods.
Maintains and updates BOMI International's educational and training materials using modern instructional design, adult learning principles, and human performance improvement methodologies.
Manages and mentors all members of the Learning and Development team including internal resources, contract instructors, consultants and subject matter experts to enhance the organization’s educational, training, and development content.
Analyzes and improves the team’s capabilities and related processes to meet ongoing educational, training, and development objectives of BOMI International.
Responsible for all team development including performance reviews, ongoing evaluations, and assessment of staffing needs and process improvements.
Acts as a liaison between the education community and the organization and provides guidance on ways to better fulfill the educational strategy and mission of the company.
Represents company to outside public and stakeholders.
Serves as the Leadership Team Lead for the Competency Committee.
Researches and evaluates future opportunities and/or threats related to BOMI International’s educational, training and development programs and business and leads SMEs to develop strategies to address these challenges.
Enhances BOMI International's educational programs, delivery methods, and curriculum to maintain market relevance and a competitive edge in the property, facility, and systems maintenance industry.
Evaluates and ensures the educational integrity of BOMI International’s materials and credentials while pursuing external recognition from industry and educational leaders to enhance program credibility.
Benchmarks BOMI International’s exams and supporting study aids against other educational and industry groups to maintain the highest quality and standards.
Supports the delivery and evaluation of instructor-led courses, such as development of guides, resources, standards, evaluative techniques, and analytical tools.
Leads team to design and develop new training programs and solutions that provide a competitive edge for the organization.
Develops strategy that ensures the value is maintained in the life cycle management of the educational asset portfolio.
Develops and maintains multiple department budgets and resources to support the strategic plan and business objectives.
Schedules and leads team meetings.
Travel to conferences and interface with external clients.
Support of other education initiatives as requested by the Senior Vice President and President.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field, or relevant work experience + High School diploma.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in training and curriculum development for adult learners.
Experience with learning management systems (LMS), publication development, course development software.
Previous experience managing teams to effectively meet organizational objectives.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent technical skills to include working knowledge of: Articulate Storyline, Microsoft Office products, current eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other multi-media design tools.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.
Strong project management skills to ensure all assets are completed effectively, thoroughly, and on time.
Demonstrated success with designing and delivering high-quality education programs.
Impeccable editing and proofreading skills.
Keen attention to detail and organization skills to support team goals and initiatives.
An ability to develop strong relationships and build buy-in with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Location:
BOMA and BOMI have offices in Annapolis, MD, and Washington, D.C., and Annapolis, respectively and operate on hybrid work schedules with the team in-office two-to-three days a week depending on location. Given the collaborative nature of this position, we are only considering candidates who are in or willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C., or Annapolis, MD, areas, with a preference for Annapolis, MD.
