APA - American Pyrotechnics Association, is looking for a Manager, Member Services and Meetings to join our small dynamic team. As our Member Services and Meetings Manager, you will work closely with the Executive Director in the planning, development, and implementation of membership retention, recruitment, engagement and meeting planning. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter with strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.
Essential Functions
- Manage membership renewals, new member application, and related member communications and programs.
- Record financial information in QuickBooks, handle invoicing and follow up on accounts receivable (e.g., outstanding dues payments, sponsorship commitments, program participation).
- Create content and publish monthly electronic newsletter.
- Engage with members and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Support planning and execution of two in-person events, including one 350-400 person Fall convention with social events and one Winter 200-250 person conference.
- Develop and manage conference registration process via Cvent Event Management portal.
- Manage and create content for APA's social media (Facebook, Twitter).
- Provide support to APA's charitable foundation including preparation of donor acknowledgement letters, quarterly newsletter, and social media.
- Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of trade association membership programs and procedures, especially those related to dues management.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks concurrently, work independently, and take initiative.
- Seasoned knowledge of AMS databases, preferably Memberclicks.
- Competent with Cvent Event Management software.
- Proficient with all applications of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Skilled with QuickBooks and credit card processing.
- Experienced with onsite meeting management, including liaising with hotel, AV, and other event coordinators.
- Practical knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired through an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience.
Work Environment
- Full time, remote, work from home position - 37.5 hour work week.
