Verto Solutions is a professional management and scientific services company located in Washington, DC. We specialize in providing thoughtful and effective solutions to clients in food and agriculture industries. We are looking for an Assistant to support the administrative and technical functions of a trade association client, specifically in the spice industry. The Administrative and Technical Assistant is a highly collaborative member of the client service team who works across multiple departments to support the smooth operations of the association.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintain and update membership database, spreadsheets, committee rosters, and contact lists.
Assist in proofreading, formatting, and preparing technical documents, reports, and presentations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Make website updates, including posting new content and reviewing current information.
General correspondence and communications, including emails to members and external stakeholders.
Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, distribute materials, and take minutes for committees, Board meetings, and other key engagements.
Assist with planning and execution of both virtual and in-person events, including managing logistics, registrations, and technical support.
Administrative support such as calendar management, travel coordination, and filing.
Other administrative or technical support duties as assigned.
Education/ Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with website content management systems is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with membership organizations or trade associations is preferred but not required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and occasionally move about the office or meeting/event locations.
This position involves frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
This position requires domestic travel approximately 3-4 times per year.
