GENERAL SUMMARY: The Senior Digital Communications Manager leads AAAAI’s digital strategy, overseeing social media, website content, digital marketing and video production to enhance engagement and promote the allergy/immunology specialty. Under the direction of the Director of Communications & Membership, the Senior Digital Communications Manager aligns digital strategies with organizational goals, ensuring consistent branding, messaging and engagement across all digital platforms.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum 37.5 hours/week):
Social Media Strategy and Execution
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance brand awareness, engagement and audience reach.
Manage all AAAAI and affiliated social media accounts, including content planning, posting, monitoring, and engagement.
Collaborate with the Social Media Editor to ensure compelling, brand-consistent content.
Analyze and report on social media performance metrics, refining strategies based on insights.
Stay informed on emerging platforms and trends to optimize AAAAI’s social media presence.
Digital Content Strategy
Develop and implement a digital content strategy that aligns with AAAAI’s goals and enhances member engagement.
Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across digital platforms, including the website, email campaigns, and social media.
Provide strategic oversight of website content to ensure accuracy, timeliness, brand alignment, and optimization for web readability and engagement.
Oversee content creation and optimization for SEO, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility.
Lead the planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns to promote the allergy/immunology specialty and elevate AAAAI’s visibility.
Develop and oversee a video content strategy that strengthens AAAAI’s digital presence and engages key audiences.
Plan and manage content calendars to align with organizational initiatives.
Utilize data-driven insights to evaluate content performance, improve engagement, and refine strategies.
Monitor digital trends and best practices to enhance AAAAI’s digital presence.
Foster collaboration across advocacy, membership, education, and event teams to support digital communication efforts.
AI Integration & Cross-Department Collaboration
Stay informed on advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance digital communications.
Support AI integration efforts across AAAAI departments while ensuring alignment with EDI/AAAAI policies.
Additional Responsibilities
Work alongside the Online Communications Manager to track digital performance using Google Analytics, social media insights, and email marketing metrics.
Ensure digital platforms comply with privacy regulations and industry best practices.
Serve as a liaison to assigned AAAAI committees.
Attendance at the Annual Meeting is required, with exceptions based on physician-approved circumstances per AAAAI/EDI policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Possibly 2-3 weeks per year; some evening and weekend work may be required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in digital communications, with a strong focus on social media strategy and management.
Proven expertise in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and content management systems.
Strong understanding of email marketing platforms and segmentation/targeting best practices.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in video production tools is a plus.
Prior experience supervising staff preferred.
Experience in association management, non-profits, or healthcare communications is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional lifting of 20-30 pounds of boxed publications.
*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
