The Director, Membership drives the growth, engagement, and retention of the Society’s membership, playing a key role in advancing organizational priorities. Reporting to the CEO, this position focuses on delivering innovative strategies to attract new members, enhance member satisfaction, and increase the overall value of membership.
As a driver of growth, the Director, Membership leverages data and analytics to develop informed approaches, optimize recruitment and retention initiatives, and measure success. This role emphasizes proactive collaboration with chapters to amplify local membership efforts, align with organizational objectives, and foster a unified approach to growth.
Success in this position requires a forward-thinking leader with exceptional relationship-building skills and a strong understanding of membership-driven organizations. The ability to analyze data and work effectively within a membership database is essential, enabling the identification of trends, opportunities, and strategic adjustments that position the Society as an indispensable resource to its members and the broader A/E/C industry.
REQUIRED GENERAL
Bachelor’s degree preferred or related work experience.
Experience in customer service, administrative support, or membership—preferably with an association or non-profit.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, verbal and written.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to rapidly learn and use new technology and software.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of, and experience with the use of database and association management systems (data entry, production of queries, reports, and forms).
NICE TO HAVE
CAE (Certified Association Executive) or similar certification.
Experience working with volunteer committees and boards.
