The Manager of Member Services & Programs will work with the Executive Vice President of Member Services & Programs, the National Education Executive Council, and the Student Advisory Committee to shape and lead the AAF’s Education, Recruitment, Recognition and Professional Development initiatives. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day managerial and administrative operations associated with the AAF's College Chapter membership, National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), Student Advertising Career Conference, and other programs directly related to the organization's education services. This position will allow you to further prepare students interested in a career in the advertising, marketing, media, and communications industry, assist with career placement and make an impact on the next wave of advertising innovators.
Essential Responsibilities:
Program Management
Collegiate Programs
Oversee the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), Student Advertising Career Conference (SACC), and College Recruiting Forum.
Create program timelines, budgets and fundraising strategies, ensuring adherence to stated plans and goals.
Manage event & travel logistics.
Secure outside speakers, sponsors, and recruiters as needed.
Coordinate with Creative Services to create marketing strategies and promotional materials.
Coordinate judging processes and maintain accurate tracking of entries and payments.
Collegiate Chapter Awards & Recognition Programs
Coordinate judging processes and maintain accurate tracking of the nomination process.
Develop communication materials and secure program funding.
Solicit potential participants for the Mentorship and Internship Programs in partnership with the Director of Member Services.
Maintain complete working knowledge of Collegiate Chapter Awards and recognition program rules and categories.
Chapter Membership
Provide timely updates to Coordinator to maintain accurate membership records and dues tracking.
Assist EVP in developing and executing retention and recruitment plans.
Update chapter assistance and leadership documents in the Member Resources repository.
Communication & Promotion
Respond promptly to inquiries and information requests.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date program information on AAF’s website.
Work with Creative Services on promotional materials and communication plans for managed programs.
Confidently speak to the benefits of partnering with Member Services, maintain relationships with existing partners to discuss their needs and align them with our offerings, craft partnership proposals, maintain contact lists and follow up with partners to continue cultivating relationships.
Create and distribute newsletters to stakeholders with information about upcoming programming and professional opportunities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional experience; with relevant experience in Membership and Fundraising/Event Coordination. Advertising industry experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Leadership: Confident, action-oriented, and passionate about impeccable customer service and membership development.
Technical: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and database software (iMIS preferred).
Organizational: Strong multitasking, efficient prioritization, and attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Professionalism: High maturity, sound judgment, and proactive initiative.
