Strategic Thinking: Maintain a yearly calendar of events to include C&EN (Chemical and Engineering News) exhibits, working directly with the sales and revenue marketing team to confirm engagement and report on post event statistics for annual ROI.
Cross Collaboration: Work across the organization to collaborate with varying departments on the one ACS approach to live events and maintain synergy amongst divisions.
Onsite Execution: Attend ACS Spring + Fall National Meetings to assist the events team with the ACS Booth execution and additional onsite event activations as required for internal teams. Additional travel will be required for annual exhibits as applicable.
Community Building: Foster a strong sense of belonging across the scientific community, connecting global audiences and stakeholders for long-term engaging event activations.
Strong Organizational Skills: Maintain multiple budgets and track expenses to assist in complete financial reconciliation.
What you’ll bring:
Higher Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, or another related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven Experience: 5-7 years of event planning and execution experience within any industry with the ability to work independently with limited instruction as well as within the team in a collaborative environment. Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible and fast-paced environment to effectively meet deadlines
Flexibility: Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including weekends.
Communication: A deep understanding of conceptual and written communication skills with a deep understanding of the English language (spelling, grammar, and vocabulary)
Resourcefulness: Demonstrate strategic and creative thinking when solving problems onsite and in the office.
