The Sales Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the Board Development Team (BDT) by managing the sales tech stack, optimizing operational processes, and ensuring seamless execution across various sales platforms. This position requires a highly organized and technical individual skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting sales-related issues, aggregating and analyzing data, and generating reports to inform key business decisions. The Specialist will also manage the Corporate Membership Management Platform (CMMP), assist in pipeline development, and collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Marketing, Member Engagement, Content, and Credentialing to drive sales efficiency and support BDT initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency, experience in sales operations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. They will be responsible for troubleshooting system and process issues, providing training and support to new corporate member designees, and assisting with both pre- and post-sales activities. This role will also involve managing sales data requests, ensuring the integrity of sales processes, and identifying areas for process improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Tech Stack Management
Tech Stack Management: Maintain and optimize the sales technology platforms and tools (CRM systems, CMMP, reporting software, etc.) used by the Board Development Team.
Tool Optimization: Continuously review the sales tech stack for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in supporting sales representatives' needs.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
Process Diagnosis: Identify, diagnose, and help resolve operational or process-related issues that affect sales representatives' ability to meet their targets and improve overall productivity.
Technical Support: Provide direct support to sales representatives for system issues, data access, and workflow challenges.
Data Aggregation & Reporting
Data Collection & Analysis: Aggregate and analyze sales data from various sources (CRM, CMMP, etc.) to generate actionable insights for the Board Development Team.
Report Creation & Maintenance: Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data.
CMMP Management & Support
CMMP Administration: Oversee the operational management of the Corporate Membership Management Portal (CMMP) used by the sales team. Ensure data accuracy, system configurations, and functionality are aligned for successful new member onboarding and member experience.
Content & Campaign Management: Assist with the deployment of marketing campaigns, sales outreach, and customer engagement activities through CRM and Marketing tools.
Training & Support: Provide ongoing training, when requested, to corporate member contacts on the use of CMMP and ensure adoption and best practices are followed.
Pipeline Development & Sales Process Support
Pre-Sales Support: Assist in activities related to the early stages of the sales process, including prospecting, lead qualification, and database management.
Post-Sales Support: Provide support following initial sales calls, ensuring proper follow-up and smooth transition of information between teams.
Pipeline Tracking: Support the monitoring and management of the sales pipeline for assigned BDT sales representatives, ensuring that all stages of the sales process are adequately tracked and reported on, including forecasting and lead conversion rates – in coordination with BDT Coordinators.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration
Collaboration with Other Departments: support BDT Sales Analyst activities in their interactions with Marketing, MET (Member Engagement Team), and Content teams to align lead generation strategies, customer outreach, and content usage for sales efforts.
Credentialing Team Coordination: Work closely with BDT Sales Analysts in support of the Credentialing team, ensuring that BDT sales reps take advantage of sales opportunities while supporting certified directors in seeking to maintain their certification.
Reporting & Strategic Input
Report Review & Analysis: work with BDT Sales Analysts and Managers in their review of sales performance data, identification of trends, and insights into areas for improvement.
Continuous Process Improvement: Actively contribute to the enhancement of sales processes and workflows, leveraging data to suggest optimizations that can lead to increased sales productivity and revenue growth.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in sales operations/ enablement required.
Sales Operations Expertise: Experience in sales operations, process management, or a similar role, with a deep understanding of sales workflows and technology tools (e.g. Salesforce, reporting software).
Data Management & Reporting: Strong ability to aggregate, analyze, and report on sales data. Proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), and CRM reporting features.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly diagnose and help resolve operational or process-related issues, minimizing disruptions to the sales process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content, and credentialing departments, to drive business goals.
Communication & Training: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience in training and educating sales reps on technology tools and best practices.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, especially when managing data, generating reports, and optimizing sales processes.
Adaptability & Proactivity: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities, and adapting to changing needs.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of sales methodologies and best practices.
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
Prior experience in sales or sales support roles in a similar industry or environment.
