The American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Education and CRCE Accreditation to lead our education initiatives and accreditation program. As a respiratory therapist and a key member of our leadership team, this role will drive the development of high-quality educational offerings, ensure compliance with accreditation standards, and enhance member engagement through innovative learning opportunities. What do we offer?
Starting range between $120,000-$130,000 based on experience and internal pay equity practices.
Hybrid work schedule (in office 2 days, remote 3 days) or fully remote if located outside the Dallas, TX area

What will you be doing?
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Vice President of Education and CRCE Accreditation will assume overall responsibility and administrative oversight of the Education & Accreditation department. Responsibilities include overseeing P&L performance, managing the annual budget, leading the team, handling project management, and driving the development, strategic planning, and growth of the department's portfolio.
The VP of Education and CRCE Accreditation will serve as a forward-facing representative of the Association with state affiliates, membership, and respiratory therapists. This position will serve as an Executive Office liaison to AARC committees, specialty sections and relevant external organizations. The VP is expected to attend Board of Director meetings and provide educational business counsel, as appropriate.
In addition, the VP of Education and CRCE Accreditation will manage special projects including working with the VP of Business Development on the following: collaboratively develop scope of business development projects, construct proposals and budgets, people oversight, and responsibility in delivering a product amenable to the Association and sponsoring company.
What education, experience and credentials are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy required. Master's degree or higher preferred.
RRT credential required with additional specialty credentials issued by NBRC preferred.
Current licensure in any recognized state preferred.
Extensive knowledge of accreditation processes, standards, and regulatory requirements required including a minimum of 7 years of experience in education program management, accreditation, or a related field, with at least 5 years serving in a senior-level management role.
At least 3 years of project management experience preferred.
Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design principles including at least 2 years serving as faculty/adjunct educator required. RT Program Director preferred.
Proven experience developing and implementing educational programs for professional development.
Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Must be self-driven and possess the ability to work independently or on a team.
Must understand budgeting process and financial management of a department.
Must have the ability to work under high pressure, stressful working conditions. Must be able to meet strict deadlines and solve problems.
Ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relationships with all internal and external stakeholder groups.
