The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of FEI Twin Cities, a nonprofit membership organization, in coordination with the Board. This role involves driving business development, fostering strategic partnerships, and enhancing the organization's market presence. The Executive Director serves as a visionary leader, overseeing the development and implementation of the organization's goals and objectives. As the “face” of the Twin Cities brand, the Executive Director promotes exposure and visibility, creating a world-class reputation both locally and nationally.
The Executive Director reports to the FEI Twin Cities President.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Development, Retention & Engagement, and Programming • Strategic Membership Growth: Develop and execute innovative membership recruitment and retention strategies, leveraging appropriate resources for implementation. • Program Innovation: Create and maintain relevant program offerings, developing innovative content that enhances the FEI value proposition for members. Ensure programs align with the overall organizational strategy to provide a clear return on investment for members. • Member Engagement: Increase member engagement in monthly programming events and educational offerings, thereby retaining members and boosting brand awareness.
Management, Finance, and Operations • Financial Strategy: Strengthen the association’s financial base through revenue growth of existing revenue streams and by identifying and developing alternative revenue streams. • Budget Oversight: In partnership with the Board Treasurer, oversee the preparation of the annual budget and maintain oversight to ensure FEI Twin Cities Chapter activities are within budget. • Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the FEI Twin Cities Chapter. • Vendor and Contract Management: Provide oversight and management of all contract employees and vendor relations to ensure alignment with annual goals and objectives. • Project Management: Utilize project management skills and organizational dynamics to manage multiple tasks and objectives effectively.
Board Relations • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Board to develop and execute a vision and multi-year strategic plan for the organization. Facilitate annual strategic planning meetings and oversee the tactical administration of the Strategic Plan. • Board Liaison: Serve as a liaison with the Board and Committees, working directly with the President to organize Twin Cities Board Chapter Meetings. • Board Onboarding: Participate in the onboarding of new Board and Committee members.
Stakeholder Management • Strategic Relationships: Build and maintain strong strategic relationships and alliances with FEI National, Strategic Partners, and local Chapter stakeholders. • Best Practices: Partner with FEI National and other FEI Chapters to identify and implement best practices. • Representation: Represent the Chapter at relevant business functions, showcasing the expertise of FEI Twin Cities Chapter.
Volunteer Engagement & Leadership • Volunteer Leadership: Provide leadership and foster a volunteer culture consistent with the Chapter’s values. • Volunteer Recruitment: Recruit, lead, and engage volunteers in an inspirational manner. • Volunteer Management: Manage volunteer engagement and participation.
Communication • Communication Strategy: Develop communication strategies, with a focus on digital and online media, to inform and build relationships with members and related constituencies. • Marketing Strategy: Create a marketing strategy that will build and enhance the FEI Twin Cities Chapter brand on a local and national scale. • Chapter Communications: Oversee Chapter communications including weekly emails to members and partners along with event blasts.
