The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is an organization of 10,000 public and private sector professionals committed to advancing from waste management to resource management through their shared emphasis on education, advocacy and research. Role Overview:
As the Manager, Education and Training, you will manage and assist with the day-to-day operations of SWANA’s training and certification programs. Reporting to the Director, Special Projects, the role manages SWANA trainings, certifications, and non-certification related training programs, webinars, and certifications. This person is a well-organized, professional individual with strong project management experience and knowledge of association education, training, and certification practices.
Responsibilities:
Manage all activities associated with maintenance, promotion, delivery, and timely updates of SWANA’s certification and education programs.
Oversee the administration of the certification program to ensure all protocols are followed.
Create and maintain SOPs for certifications.
Manage certification renewals, including revising messaging as needed.
Assist in scheduling and implementing regular reviews of certification course exams and training program materials, including slide presentations and manuals.
Create and maintain SOPs for trainings and webinars.
Contribute materials for education-related marketing efforts.
Assist in the development of yearly budgets, and regularly monitor financial performance of trainings and certifications.
Manage contracts with partners and independent contractors.
Obtain and compile feedback from partners on training efforts.
Assist in developing and enlarging instructor pool for training programs.
Assist in the annual conference call for proposal process, including managing volunteers.
Identify opportunities for intra-organizational collaboration.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
At least 5 years in an association with education and certification experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Experience in the management and execution of association educational programming.
Strong skills in managing multiple projects concurrently and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
Volunteer management experience.
Research, project management and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
This position will work in a hybrid capacity but must be based in the Washington D.C. area.
