American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), a medical professional society headquartered in eastern Loudoun County (Leesburg/Ashburn), is seeking a Publications Associates: Production. This position supports the Publication Department combining administrative, technical graphic design, and website production skills.
Major Duties
Administrative Duties:
Monitor submission tracking system to coordinate timely movement of articles through the production process
Communicate with authors, editors, and production staff regarding submission status
Maintain and monitor tracking spreadsheets
Answer questions from authors, editors, and production staff and aid in problem solving in a friendly, professional manner
Perform duties in an organized manner with high level of attention to detail
Other duties as needed to support the publications department
Graphic Design/Website Duties:
Create contact sheets for manuscripts using Adobe Photoshop
Assist production staff in preparation of figures using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Assist production staff in basic article layout design using Adobe InDesign
Assist production staff with basic web coding in XML/HTML
Successful candidates will have high level of attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel), and Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). Understanding of Google Workplace. Basic XML/HTML coding

The American Roentgen Ray Society, founded in 1900, is the first and oldest radiology society in the United States.
