Compensation: $150,000–$160,000 total target earnings, consisting of base salary and performance-based commission.
Location: Primarily remote, based in Austin, TX. Requires up to 35% travel, both domestic and international.
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is currently looking for a Business Development Director with 7-10 years of experience in sales and business development to lead a growing, diverse and energetic team. The ideal candidate for this role exhibits a passion for people combined with a history of success in expanding B2B offerings and programs. The Business Development Director will work closely with the ACFE’s leadership team to develop and execute strategic initiatives to attract and acquire new customers, as well as retain and expand current customer accounts.
This role is also responsible for managing the ACFE’s Business Development and Sales team, which includes team members dedicated to selling business-to-business (B2B) offerings like group memberships and training, as well as sponsorships and advertising. Reporting to the VP of Communications, the Business Development Director will refine and drive the successful execution of B2B sales and revenue growth strategies that align with ACFE strategic goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
Oversee ACFE partnership programs, including the Corporate Alliance Partnership and Law Enforcement and Government Alliance, and collaborate with ACFE leadership to evolve the benefits and other value-added products and services available to organizations enrolled in the ACFE’s partnership programs.
Work with Business Development and Sales team members to establish and successfully execute prospecting and account expansion plans, including meeting personal sales quotas and KPIs.
Establish goals and objectives, set quotas and KPIs, and help design compensation plans that incentive, recognize and reward strong performance.
Motivate, train, coach, mentor, and provide day-to-day oversight of the B2B Business Development and Sales team, while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
Provide strategic guidance to international contractors supporting the ACFE’s growth in key geographic regions.
Collaborate closely with ACFE leadership and marketing team to create effective sales and marketing strategies and campaigns designed to generate awareness and qualified leads.
Develop and strengthen relationships with key customers, prospects and referral partners, including through attending ACFE conferences and summits, roundtables, and other live in-person and virtual events, as needed.
Oversee ACFE sponsorship and advertising programs and collaborate with ACFE leadership to continue to enhance related offerings to maximize revenue opportunities.
Provide regular sales reporting and forecasts to ACFE leadership as well as the broader organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in International Business or a related field preferred. MBA is a plus.
7-10 years of progressive experience in business development or a B2B sales role, preferably within professional services, associations or related industries.
Previous success in leading and managing high-performing B2B sales teams with a people- centered leadership style that promotes team cohesion and long-term success.
Knowledge and professional network in the anti-fraud profession, including financial services, consulting, government, accounting, compliance and/or internal audit preferred. Experience in the association industry a plus.
Ability to travel up to 35% of the time both domestically and internationally.
Strong aptitude for creating and executing global sales and marketing initiatives.
Cultural and political sensitivity to inter-cultural environments and an understanding of/experience with international business.
Skills in collaborating with internal and external resources.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills and the ability to align individuals and achieve common goals.
Effective usage of English grammar, syntax and punctuation; thorough understanding of style and current English usage.
Proven skills in organizing work, attending to detail, taking direction, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Customer Relationship Management software (CRM). Experience with Salesforce and Asana preferred.
