As our Communications Associate you will research and analyze complex issues and judge newsworthiness of information to meet NSPE member needs. Monitor engineering industry and professional engineering issues to develop content for various channels. Assist in writing and editing for newsletters, a magazine, website pages, press releases, copy for other departments, and other content. Contribute to updates and postings on NSPE’s social media channels. Cultivate strong relationships with NSPE members and other key industry stakeholders.
You’d have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have accomplished two years of relevant, or a mix of education and experience.
We’d need you to have strong writing skills to produce a wide range of content, including news and feature stories; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels; the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with efficiency; and a collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn new skills and processes.
You would also need to have proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram) and familiarity with tools such as Canva, media monitoring software, and the Higher Logic Thrive platform a plus.
Your initiative and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines would be vital for the role and the team. Your strong interpersonal skills would be needed to work effectively with all levels of NSPE staff and members, including volunteer leaders, and the engineering community.
