OVERVIEW
The Manager of Advancement and Recognition is responsible for the administrative management and coordination of the Society’s recognition programs and serves as the primary administrator for the Society’s online Thrive community powered by Higher Logic. This role ensures the smooth operation of these programs through efficient administration, stakeholder support, and data management while enhancing member engagement and visibility.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while supporting volunteer committees and program participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS AWARDS (MCA) PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Manages the MCA awards program lifecycles, including application intake, review coordination, and winner announcements
Administers the online submission platform, ensuring seamless user experience for entrants and judges
Coordinates volunteer judges, including recruitment, training, and support throughout the evaluation process
Works closely with the marketing team to promote award deadlines, submission requirements, and winner recognition
Supports event planning and logistics for the MCA awards ceremony, ensuring smooth execution and visibility for winners
Tracks program participation and compile reports to assess trends and areas for improvement
MySMPS COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT
Manages the Society’s online Thrive community powered by Higher Logic to build and nurture member interactions, foster engagement, and create a sense of belonging among community members
Coordinates program strategic planning in collaboration with staff and stakeholders to define community goals, target audiences, and engagement strategies
Utilizes High Logic’s features to create, customize, and manage communities
Coordinates and manages relevant content to spark discussions and provide value to community members
Moderates the online community to ensure positive and respectful participation from all members
Encourages member engagement through various tactics
Tracks and analyzes key metrics to understand community health, member behavior, and the effectiveness of engagement strategies
CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES MARKETER (CPSM) PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION
Responds to inquiries about CPSM eligibility, applications, and renewal processes
Ensures accurate and consistent management of program data throughout its lifecycle
Assists in updating and distributing CPSM program materials, including candidate guides and policies
Supports the Certification Committee, providing administrative assistance, scheduling meetings, and documenting discussions
Provides reports and other relevant information as requested by our credentialing agency
SMPS FELLOWS PROGRAM AND OTHER RECOGNTION PROGRAMS
Manages data and records related to Fellows program participants and ensures compliance with eligibility criteria
Coordinates logistics for Fellow inductions and related programming, including event support and communications
Provides administrative support for other SMPS recognition programs, ensuring timely communication with participants, accurate record-keeping, and coordination with key stakeholders
STAKEHOLDER AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT
Serves as the liaison between SMPS, program participants, and volunteers committees for recognition programs
Supports virtual and in-person meetings by coordinating schedules, preparing materials, and recording key takeaways
Ensures timely communication with members, exam candidates, certificants, award entrants, judges, and Fellow’s applicants
Assists in identifying ways to streamline processes and enhance the members and/or participant experience
ADMINISTRATIVE AND DATA MANAGEMENT
Maintains accurate program records, reports, and analytics for recognition programs and the MySMPS community
Prepares reports and summaries for internal teams and leadership. Ensures compliance with program policies and industry smart practices.
Coordinate with vendors for awards platform support, certification exams, MySMPS community administration, and program-related services
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
REQUIRED GENERAL
Bachelor’s degree preferred or related work experience
Experience in the Higher Logic platform
Association management, credentialing, and/or awards program administration
Minimum of three years’ proven experience in administrative program coordination or nonprofit operations
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and volunteers
REQUIRED TECHNICAL
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and project management tools
Experience working with databases and online community and award platforms
NICE TO HAVE
Experience working with volunteer committees and boards
