SUMMARY
The Vice President of Information and Innovation is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive strategy that drives stakeholder engagement, operational efficiency, financial reporting and insights, and technology advancement for the organization. This individual will lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on providing high-impact solutions for members and stakeholders, expanding business development opportunities, ensuring seamless technology, finance and administrative operations. The VP will leverage data-driven insights to inform strategic and financial decisions, elevate the organization’s technology infrastructure, and create an agile environment that supports innovative program development and stakeholder success. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the CEO to ensure effective human resource management, including oversight of payroll, benefits, related technology platforms, and vendor relationships.
This is a hybrid role, but the individual must be able to be in NCACPA's Raleigh, NC office 3+ days per week and able to travel in- and out-of-state.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Solutions
Setting the vision and guiding the process for (i.e. lead) the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of innovative solutions and programs that meet and exceed the evolving needs of stakeholders, including members, affiliates, and partners.
Oversee business development initiatives to expand and enhance partnerships, sponsorships, and other strategic collaborations that support organizational growth and impact.
Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and other senior leadership, providing recommendations based on data and financial insights, technology trends, and emerging industry opportunities as it relates to the implementation of the organization’s strategic initiatives.
Data-Driven Program Development and Business Analysis
Oversee the organization’s business intelligence and data analytics platform(s), including management of applicable vendors.
Utilize analytics and data intelligence to derive actionable insights that inform the development, enhancement, and evaluation of programs, services, and business models.
Establish and lead a data governance framework to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and effective utilization across the organization.
Implement business analysis methodologies to identify opportunities for new revenue streams, cost optimization, and program scalability.
Technology Strategy and Digital Transformation
Develop and execute a forward-looking technology strategy that enhances both internal and external user experiences, ensuring that systems are robust, secure, and scalable.
Guide the adoption of digital transformation initiatives to streamline operations, improve service delivery, and increase user engagement across platforms and services.
Implement and integrate advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics tools, to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
Operations, Finance, and Administration
Provide leadership and oversight to both the Solutions & Partnerships and Accounting/Finance teams, ensuring alignment of strategic initiatives, operational excellence, first-rate end user experience, and financial planning.
Leverage technology infrastructure and administrative processes to optimize operational efficiencies and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations, maintaining a strong internal control environment and promoting risk management practices.
Oversee risk management initiatives and business insurances related to operational processes, including data protection, cybersecurity, and workplace safety.
Human Resource Management Collaboration
Collaborate with the CEO to set strategies and policies for human resources, payroll, benefits, and related vendor management.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HR-related technology platforms to improve operational efficiencies and employee experience.
Partner with HR leadership (or the CEO, if no dedicated HR leadership) to ensure that recruiting, onboarding, and professional development initiatives align with organizational priorities and culture.
Team Development and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Promote cross-functional collaboration with other departments, including Advocacy, Relationships and Outreach, Marketing and Communications and Solutions and Partnerships, to drive cohesive execution of strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with other staff members on the administration and oversight of the Foundation and PAC.
Serve as an internal champion for change management, helping teams navigate through organizational transformations with clear communication and support.
DEMONSTRATED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field; CPA, MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a leadership role within business development, technology management, finance, HR, or a related field, preferably in a professional association, membership organization, or nonprofit setting.
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing innovative stakeholder solutions and business models.
Proven track record in technology strategy development and the successful deployment of enterprise technology solutions.
Strong background in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Strong understanding of the CPA profession and the challenges and opportunities it faces.
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing high-performing teams.
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
