A leading national membership organization in the healthcare space is seeking an experienced Education Program Manager to oversee the planning and execution of hands-on procedural training programs. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of in-person surgical skills programs, including content development, faculty coordination, logistical planning and post-event evaluation. The ideal candidate is a proactive project manager with experience in continuing medical education (CME), compliance, budgeting, and collaboration with clinical experts and industry partners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary staff contact for a physician-led education committee focused on surgical training.
Oversee all aspects of procedural skills programs, including scheduling, agenda development, faculty recruitment, lab setup, assessments, and CME documentation.
Design and manage timelines and workflows for course planning and delivery; track milestones and ensure timely completion of key deliverables.
Collaborate with clinical advisors and thought leaders to shape high-quality instructional content aligned with learner needs and emerging best practices.
Build and manage program budgets; forecast revenue and expenses, monitor financial performance, and develop go/no-go scenarios when needed.
Facilitate collaboration with corporate partners to secure equipment loans, sponsorships, and other in-kind support; manage associated agreements and documentation.
Coordinate logistics with lab facilities, AV vendors and event staff to ensure seamless program delivery.
Support the planning and implementation of joint programs with external partners and affiliated medical associations.
Champion innovation in skills education by integrating simulation, robotics, remote learning and other emerging technologies into the curriculum.
Ensure educational activities are fully compliant with relevant accreditation standards (e.g., ACCME); assist with audits and re-accreditation efforts.
Liaise with internal teams including marketing, finance, IT and operations to support program promotion and delivery.
Provide onsite event support and contribute to the success of the organization’s national conference and other high-profile education initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or certification in education, public health, or a related field a plus.
3+ years of program or project management experience in healthcare education or CME.
Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage effectively with physicians, sponsors, and vendors.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and/or surgical training methodology preferred.
Familiarity with CME accreditation requirements and simulation-based training strongly preferred.
