DIRECTOR OF REGULATORY AFFAIRS
JOB DESCRIPTION Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our non-profit organization as a Director of Regulatory Affairs. In this role, you will lead the organization’s regulatory engagement and advocacy efforts. This includes engaging in balanced advocacy with regulators and policymakers, understanding and providing thought leadership to members and governing internal coordination among members and other non-profit organizations regarding regulatory issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Affairs:
Develop and implement a regulatory strategy in support of compliance professionals and the organization’s priorities. Serve as a key member of the team, contributing to strategic planning and organizational goals. Manage regulatory projects, ensuring timely and effective execution. Monitor and analyze federal, state and SRO regulatory developments affecting the industry. Coordinate the preparation of comment letters to advocate for industry interests. Coordinate regulatory responses and initiatives with coalition partners and other advocacy groups. Coordinate the organization’s Regulatory Interchanges. Oversee and Administer the Organizations Regulatory Advisory Committee. Administering membership surveys to obtain the voice of members and constructively sharing with regulators. Provide thought leadership on industry regulations and economics, identifying opportunities to enhance value and advocacy for members. Tracking and reporting on interaction quality and cadence, regulatory themes and focus areas across regulatory regimes
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, policymakers, and stakeholders, fostering constructive relationships. Collaborate with members, regulators, legal teams, and external consultants to align regulatory initiatives. Represent the organization at conferences and industry forums. Build coalitions and partnerships to strengthen the organization's voice on regulatory. Actively seeks out opportunities to grow the organization’s influence on the regulatory advocacy front.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and relationships with diverse stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes and driving membership and sponsor growth and retention. Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills, including both public speaking and the ability to engage with senior executives. Prior experience in regulatory advocacy a plus Additional Information: This is a full-time remote position, with occasional travel required for meetings, events, and conferences.
