The American Animal Hospital Association's (AAHA's) story began in 1933, driven by a collective vision of seven passionate veterinary leaders. That vision lives on in AAHA's purpose to elevate the standards of small animal care through accreditation, innovation, guidelines and ongoing initiatives. From the very beginning, AAHA has been a trailblazer, setting the bar for excellence and evolving alongside the veterinary industry.
AAHA's journey is far from over. The organization remains committed to upholding the founders' vision and is wholly committed to simplifying the journey towards excellence for veterinary practices. The organization's goal is to continue elevating the standard of veterinary practice through accreditation and actionable content, to provide a foundation for and nurture the growth of all veterinary practices and their teams through relationship centered membership, and to stimulate responsible and mission-aligned innovation through industry collaboration.
AAHA has a staff of 64, an annual operating budget of approximately $12 million and a 7- to 10-member Board of Directors.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AAHA serves as the visionary leader, guiding the organization's strategy, culture and growth. As the public face of AAHA, the CEO will champion the Association's mission to enhance the quality of veterinary care by setting standards of excellence, fostering collaboration and advancing innovation in the field. The CEO will oversee all aspects of AAHA's operations, including strategic planning, financial performance and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the organization's continued success and relevance in the veterinary community.
The salary range for this position annually is between $280,000 and $330,000 and will be commensurable with experience. The Association has a supportive culture, encourages professional development and is an organization that cares about employee wellbeing. The comprehensive benefits package includes vacation days, paid holidays, medical/vision/dental insurance and a 401k with an employer match, among others.
