INFORMS is seeking a Strategic Projects Coordinator or Manager to support the Executive Director in driving high-priority strategic initiatives, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and tracking key organizational priorities.
This role requires a proactive problem-solver who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating strategic projects, preparing executive briefings, and ensuring follow-through on key initiatives.
We are open to candidates with different experience levels—the title (Coordinator or Manager) will be determined based on qualifications. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days in our Catonsville, MD office.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and progress tracking for strategic initiatives.
Facilitate execution of enterprise-wide projects by coordinating with staff, volunteers, and leadership.
Monitor key priorities and action items to ensure deadlines are met.
Proactively identify roadblocks and work to resolve challenges in project execution.
Meeting Preparation & Follow-Up
Prepare research, briefing materials, and background documents for executive meetings.
Capture key decisions, next steps, and responsibilities to ensure follow-through.
Coordinate with teams to track commitments and outcomes from leadership meetings.
Strategic Communications & Decision Support
Draft concise reports, memos, and presentations for leadership and board meetings.
Synthesize complex information into executive summaries for decision-making.
Develop structured updates on strategic initiatives for stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Organizational Efficiency
Identify opportunities to improve workflows and efficiency in decision-making processes.
Recommend and implement best practices for project tracking and coordination
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is required.
2-7 years progressive experience in project management, operations or executive coordination.
Strong organization, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Exceptional communication skills—must be able to synthesize and present information effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Strong analytical and process improvement mindset.
Flexibility to travel occasionally.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport across all levels of an organization and all types of stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
