POSTION SUMMARY The National Pest Management Association, a 4,000 member strong trade association, representing the structural pest control industry, is seeking an Executive Director for its 501c6 certification arm, the Foundation for Professional Pest Management (FPPM). This sister organization is tasked with credentialing companies and individuals who seek to go above and beyond state and federal regulations to demonstrate their professionalism in pest management. With annual revenues of approximately $500k, the Executive Director will be tasked with growing participation across credentials while increasing brand recognition by promoting the value of these certifications to end users of pest control services.
The position will work in close coordination with staff and volunteers from the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), Canadian Pest Management Association (CPMA), and the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) to support the pest management industry's commitment to the protection of public health, food and property. The ideal candidate will facilitate an efficient and accurate accreditation review process, optimizing workflow with IT solutions while supporting applicants and credential holders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as the Executive Director and primary staff liaison to FPPM’s Board of Directors, committees and task forces • Assist in the development of a strategy and execute on the strategy that results in an increasing number of pest management companies and professionals earning credentials • Coordinate the creation and expansion of approved education and training programs designed to educate company representatives and individuals in becoming credentialed • Regularly review and update certification processes to maintain validity, credibility, and relevancy • Report on newly accredited companies and certified individuals and progress towards goals and objectives • Serve as lead contact for all QualityPro and NPMA PRO operations matters including overseeing the maintenance of all trademarks, federal filings, maintaining inventory, and managing contracts • Assist accredited companies and NPMA PRO Certified individuals with cobranding and utilizing their certification(s) in compliance with the Brand Guide • Annually administer processes including renewal payments and audits • Assist applicants by answering inquiries, coaching them through the application process, and connecting them with resources as needed • Approve completions and maintain records in the respective organization technology platforms • Work with IT and Membership to cultivate data to inform decision making and progress tracking • Prepare reports for Board meetings • Serve as the staff liaison to committees and task forces that help support and inform the FPPM strategic plan • Collaborate with other NPMA departments as needed to accomplish goals. o Work with IT to maintain and improve technology-driven processes. o Work with the NPMA membership and marketing teams to execute a communication and marketing plan that results in QualityPro and NPMA PRO growing brand awareness, tracking results and making recommendations for future strategy. including websites: Npmaqualitypro.org, Qualityprotools.org, Qualitypro.org, NPMAPRO.org. o Assist NPMA in fulfilling orders for marketing materials o Serve as project manager when working with third party vendors o Maintain a strong, value-added relationship with related organizations • Ensure the needs of the customers are met including, but not limited to o Work with the NPMA Finance Team to develop and update program budgets, payments and expenses. • Respond to daily requests from accredited companies and individuals with program requests • Process applications • Develop, enhance and execute a process to recognize newly earned credential holders • Verify submissions in our credentialing portal NPMA • Ability and desire to travel up to 20% of the time to trade shows and conferences to represent FPPM at various conferences, meetings and networking events • Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to: o Participating in all Management Team/Department Heads activities o Participating in NPMA staff meetings and events • Other duties as assigned
PREFERED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of experience in credentialing • Strong administrative, organizational, and project management skills • Exceptional customer service and communication skills • Experience working with technical committees, accreditation councils, or governance boards • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Experience with polling/survey programs • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking abilities • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, database management, and learning management systems • Knowledge of credentialing software and database management systems • Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and identify trends using IT tools • Experience working with web content management systems (CMS) and accreditation portals • Familiarity with automation tools to optimize administrative workflows • Certifications in credentialing such as ICE-CPP are preferred • Experience working for or with a trade association with company-level membership is preferred • Strong data analysis and financial management skills are preferred
